Numbers in Indian Mathematics
[According to Naarad Puraan, p 242]

In Indian system numbers increase in two except the first hundred, which is in three (one hundred); while in western system they increase in hundreds throughout the writings.

These numbers may be added or subtracted from unit side or from the other side, the addition and subtraction will be the same if the units are added or subtracted to units and tens are added or subtracted to tens etc.

Most of texts including Mathematics texts in Sanskrit define "Arbud' as 10 Crore
"Eka Dash Shat Sahasra Ayut Laksha Prayut Kotaya: kramasha : Arbutam Abjam Kharva Nikharva Maha Padma Shankh vasthasmal !! Jaladhishyanthyam Madhyam Parardhamiti dash gunottharaa ssamjjnaa:"
(The First Pad of this Shlok gives names up to Parardha -
