Introduction

The Basics

Remelia is a MUD, a multi-player, text-based game. In particular, we are an RP or role-play MUD, which means that a very strict level of RP enforcement is present. Thus, Remelia is for players who are interested in character development, player-driven or staff-driven plotlines, playing the role of someone other than yourself, and attempting to portray your place in the game world realistically. For more information on how to role-play according to our guidelines, visit our RP Guidelines page.

How to Connect

The primary way to connect directly to our server is via telnet, though it has very few features and is not recommended by the Remelia staff for a serious player. The only advantage of telnet is that it can be accessed from any computer. You may connect with telnet here.

The Remelia staff recommends you download a separate MUD client since most possess a large number of useful features. GMUD is an excellent example.

Regardless of how you connect, the proper address for Remelia is mud.remelia.org, on Port 4000.

How to Play

The help files in-game are far more detailed than those listed here; however, since Remelia is not complete, neither are said help files. The most important commands to remember at first, however, are the “say”, “emote”, and directional commands (north east etc.).

To access the help files when in-game, type help. For a specific topic, type help and a keyword (e.g. “help emote”).
