RentakAsia – Press Release

A MEGA-FEAST OF MUSIC, FOOD AND THE ARTS

Come Oct. 20 and 21, 2000, Kuala Lumpur will be the setting for one of the biggest multi-arts events ever held in this region. RentakAsia (The Rhythm of Asia), a gathering of artists from all corners of the world, celebrates music, food and the arts in all their varied glory.

To be held at the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil, RentakAsia will put Kuala Lumpur on the map as a major events destination.

The entire sports complex will be transformed into a huge entertainment center with visitors being able to enjoy a non-stop flow of music, food and entertainment from 1pm to 1am for two days.

Since the event, which is supported by Malaysia Airports Berhad and the Pan Pacific Hotel, KLIA, is being tied in with the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang on Oct. 20-22, 2000, more than 100,000 visitors are expected to enjoy the RentakAsia experience.

All events surrounding RentakAsia have been designed in such a way that music and arts lovers can pick and choose the kind of performance they wish to enjoy at any given time.

In addition to the impressive mix of music by artists from the East and West, there will also be street entertainment by buskers and artists, making RentakAsia a true grassroots celebration of the arts.

RentakAsia is designed to attract people of all ages with various tastes in music. The organizing committee have spent months, arduously planning to make sure that the event leaves a lasting impression as one of the most ambitious of its kind to be staged in this region.

Basically, RentakAsia will feature a Music/Arts & Crafts Village, an outdoor venue for both local and foreign recording artists, and a Food Village, a venue for local and franchised food vendors

An all-entry ticket will allow paying visitors full access to every scheduled event.
