Updated Oct 27 2007 In May 2006 - blew up Transform Tranny. They are outta business so I purchased a 6speed 996 tranny. Purchased 3.5 litre Olds engine (shortstar) with aftermarket engine management system. Currently have car ripped apart and I am building adapters for the engine and transmission. |
My laser 917 Kit Car which the designer loosely based on the Porsche 917K LeMans racer from the Early 70's. Not a perfect replica, but about as close as you could get to fit on an existing chassis. Other compromises include a stock windshield instead of the more jet fighter like original, and rear engine instead of mid engine. |

Updated July 12 2008 I have been working in the garage for a few days trying to get the new engine working. Have had some minor setbacks because the engine has been sitting for three years. I have the ECU and the wiring harness installed. It took three hours to clean the injectors so they would work. I was blowing a fuse after a few seconds of running the engine so I had to open up the wiring harness to trace cables. I figured out I needed a separate fused supply line for the Coils. So with the fuel pump in a bucket of gas and all the other problems fixed it started and stayed on for 20 seconds. Success. Now I can start on the frame. |
