Announcements!
1/25/09:      Happy new year to everyone! Sorry for being scarce, the holidays have been a little bit of a rough time- it seems for a variety of people, actually. So Drya has a working computer again. Thus, the updates can begin again. However- Drya does not have a function copy of FFXI. Mainly because installing in on her new lappy would be very dangerous. FFXI during statistics would most likely be a bad thing. So yes, those wishing to have the roster updated, it will be done. ^.^

11/13/08:      Okay, So I'm back to work on updating the roster. Part of the delay has been that I changed the layout to fit a little bit better (There's a lot of info in there, ya'know?). So, I basically have to delete the old page, and rebuild it from scratch. Trust me, it's easier than attempting to edit the old page. There's just too much that's different.
There've been a lot of people requesting where to send a screenie. Either of the character or real life. It's really simple. You can email it to me here (returnersls@yahoo.com). It might take me a little bit to get them up, I'm starting to figure out how to balance school, work, and FFXI. Thus, be patient if you don't see it up immediately. Thanks! ^.^

10/22/08:      It entertains me at times that other LS officers forget, I'm not the only one with the password to this account. A full rant on that later in the blog. The webmaster gives her apologies to those that have been wanting to get on the roster list and a profile up (and to those I've promised screenies). This week marks the start of week 4 (out of 10) in her fall term, and with 18 credits, she's a little busy. But updates are starting to happen again. If you want to see your information updated (or put up) you can a- use the character info form or b- join the LS Community site.
Have patience. Change is coming. ... Dammit. Now I sound like that damn politician. ... /sigh

8/04/08:      I know. Updates have been slow. I wasn't actually fending off real life as much as I thought. Anyway-
Well, many things have gotten a tune up around the site. There are now two new clocks, roster pages for all LS Members on the Communities site (Join it goshdarnit!) were updated, the crafting page got tinkered, the chocobo page is gone (check the blog), and links have been generally tested. There's still the Gallery to get fully up and running -and- the Games page to polish up. But I'm editing again. Who knows, maybe I'll stick with it.
Edit: Be proud of me! I blogged in earnest. ^.^
Edit: Oh... and I really need somebody to proof read for me some times... >.> "The your current time is:"... honestly, you'd think I was drinking of something. Wait. It was spelled correctly. Right, just tired. ^.^

5/27/08:      Right, so... Real life is no longer eating the webmaster alive. Well, it is... but I'm fending it off with a big stick. I think. Hard to tell with all the sawdust around. Anyway.
The reason for this announcement is to welcome all the new comers to the LS. We really do love seeing all these new faces. But I especially love, being the webmaster, keeping the roster up to date. Now that I can, I'd love to see people send me character info. But how do I do this, you ask? Well, this is why we have the forms page of the website. It's a way you can help me get that info. So I don't have to hop on and continually harass you for information. Ask a sackholder. I do it to them about events. It's not happy.
Scary things aside, welcome to the LS!

1/25/08:      Slowly but surely additions and changes are happening to the site. Check the blog for more details. Yes, there are currently broken links. I'm working on fixing them, amusingly, weather permitting.
Oh. And happy New Year. ^^

12/16/07:      Congratulations to Dai and Grace for tying the knot in game! Video of the wedding can be found on youtube.com (Here for pt 1) and screenies of the wedding will be available in the gallery shortly. ... Well, okay, after I get it all coded. May take a day or two... But Congrats to the happy couple!

12/12/07:      Just a heads up, there's a discussion starting (or attempting to) on the Communities page about missions and the upcoming Storyline Crew. Chime in and let us know what you'll looking for and can bring to the table. And if you haven't yet, join the communities page. You'll need you PoL ID and Password to get in. ^.^

12/6/07:      Congratulations to Tashal for his upgrade from Pearl to Sack! Welcome to the insanity. ^.^ You'll have fun, I'm sure.
The blog has *gasp* been updated. It has current projects and general ramblings on it. Feel free to look it over and comment.
JOIN THE LS COMMUNITIES PAGE! >.> Okay... I feel better now. ^.^ Sorry, the LS has been growing again and I'd love to see more faces on the Community Page. Why? Because as the webmistress, it makes my life easier to update the roster page and w/ the coming of a possibly mission/story line crew, it'd be nice to see who's at what mission in what story line. It just makes things easier for those of us scheduling events. ^.^ You will need your PoL ID and password to log into the LS Community page.

11/21/07:      Yep. Drya's been slacking. Or caught up in real life. Take your pick. Apologies all around for the lack of updating as of late. it's starting to get back into that season where real life sort of takes hold and doesn't let go. I'll try to get the updates back on time.
Let's see... A lot of new faces have been on the LS. Welcome to the resistance. It's good to see you on and active in the LS. Check the calendar for upcoming events and please, please, please join the LS Community. It makes my life -so- much easier for keeping the roster up to date. Or try to anyway. >.>
Wings of the Goddess is out! YAY! Of course, it was suppose to be out on Tuesday but for all PC users, the date got pushed back by one (to today) due to some sort of issue during manufacture. Wings looks to be very exciting for our LS as Campaign -should- provide lower level or even non-combat events during the Crystal War. None of Wings becomes live until the 22nd, so this weekend should be a non-stop exploration-fest. If you don't have Wings yet, don't worry. We aren't going to abandon everything else for Wings.

11/17/07:      To celebrate the new expansion coming out, we're devoting a whole week to it! See the Calendar page for details on the latest ls event, OMGWtGBBQ.

10/28/07:      Congrats to the observant that notice the change to the site. ^.^ For the rest of us: There is no longer and LS Photo's page.
Now don't panic. This doesn't mean that there won't be photos of any one anymore. I just got tired of having to keep two lists running. Gets very confusing when we've got an in flux of people joining The Returners. Hi, by the way, and welcome to the website. ^.^
What is going on is this: I'm combining the Photo's and Roster page onto one page. Or rather, I'm putting the photo's of you on your characters page. -MUCH- simpler for me. And really, this site is still here because I have fun with it. ^.^ I get to experiment w/ new html stuff on you guys. And occassionally Java. Like the Clocks. >.> That reminds me, I need to get the .jp Clock working. Stupid Java. <.<
Anyway, So if your page is down when you check on it, look back in 5 min. I promise I won't let your page stay down for too long (I'm deleting them as I create the new one). In the meantime though, the photos are going to be unavailable until I get all the character pages converted to the new format.
And there are even new photo's up... *evil cackle* I had a camera at the Halloween party a fair number of us were at. You all can blame Sethra. I borrowed it from him. ^.^

10/12/07:      Congrats to Daigotsu for beating Maat! It only took him three tries, which for a red mage is awesome! He says he didn't even have to convert. >.> I don't know if I believe that but, Dai still laid the smack down and Maat's given him the right to go on to 75.

      10/10/07:      I GOT THE VANA'DIEL CLOCK WORKING!!!!
Yes... This is that big of a deal to me. ^.^

10/8/07:      Yes, I'm doing a second announcement post. Mostly cause I'm neglectful. Congrats to Carmela for hitting PLD75!!
There are new forms up on the forms page. Go check them out. Two are currently active (the polls). The new forms will be active when I'm done coding them. ^^
Actually, the new forms will be done when I'm done w/ the new calendar page. (Wanna peak? Go here.) I'll need them for organizing the links page because, as our LS is getting bigger and higher in level, some people are starting to go to endgame LS's. I'd like to post links to those LS's on our links page. That and I just want to get that page organized. Blah. I don't know what I was thinking to just throw those links up there like that. It needs structure. *nods*
     >.> Jebus. I've got too many plans for this website. (Want to hear them? I'll rant in the blog later.) Maybe when we get a solid number of people, I can convince Sera to upgrade the website and we'll be able to host a forum! <.< >.> Okay, I'm going back to coding now.

10/8/07:      Congrats to Leohboo and Apollofae for making it through the basic Promyvion runs. Ragon, Seraphyn, and Romance (for one crag) were awesome for helping out. Weclome Wiggles! We're glad you enjoyed the runs. The two crag runs seem to go well for people so look for it in later months.
Photos -should- be fixed. If they're not tell me and I'll fix it. The calendar is going to be overhauled here in a bit, then I'll go back to consolidating the roster and photo's page. Either way, I'd love input on how things are looking. Seriously, it's like you guys never come here. >.>
For those that have just joined The Returners, please, please, -please-, join us on the LS Community site. It helps me keep accurate information on the roster and crafting page. Why don't we just use the Communities page? Because, this one is more easily accessible.
And I'm a sucker for making websites. ^.^

9/19/07:      Alright, Drya mucked up the photos on the site. See the blog for more info.
Congrats to Seraphyn, Carmela, Apollofae, and Drya for getting access to sky! Our LS is growing up. /cry      Sera and I have been talking about adding a sort of screenies slideshow to the LS site. Interested in having your shots included? Send them to Drya and they'll get added to the collage.      More info to come later!

8/30/07:      Maat's got to be having a bad week because for the second time this week, one of our LS members has stomped him into submission. Congrats to Seraphyn for finally showing the old timer that he does know how to be a damn good DRG. Seraphyn's third attempt to defeat Maat ended up using brilliant new tactics that allowed him to get the upper hand on delivering damage and keep dishing it out before Maat could really retaliate. I'm sure Sera will be happy to relate the full story to those that wish to hear it.

8/26/07:      Congrats to Carmela for beating Maat on his first try! The fight was an excellend display of PLD skill (and a bit of luck) as Carmela didn't even use a single potion during the fight. For those planning to level PLD to 75, I'm sure Carmela wouldn't mind to help give you pointers on tactics and such. (We all know Sera loves helping drg's out ^.^)
Drya sends her apologies for not updating the site faster. Real life has been a bit odd lately for her. The problem is being fixed. Be sure to check the calendar for up coming events. (I might even put a link to next month's calendar o.o)

8/09/07:      You may wish to check out the blog at your earliest convience. ^.^

8/01/07:      I know. It's shocking. I'm updating the announcements page. This is for two very important reasons.
  1. Tashal Beat Maat
  2. Dragnon Has Left FFXI
The first order of business is very exciting. And a bit late in me posting it. But our very own Tashal finally beat Maat as a white mage. What's this mean for our LS? Well, the big thing is that some of our members are growing up. I use that term loosely (Dai, I don't care how many times you beat Maat, you'll never be a grown up.) Tashal is the first of us to break his limits and surpass Maat. Others, I know will follow (Sera's already tried). This doesn't mean though, that we're going to stop doing lower level things. This doesn't mean that the LS will disolve as Shell/Sack holders start playing with the big kids. Our LS is a growing LS. We're adapting to it. Right now, there aren't enough of us high level enough to play the big games but I can see that day coming. We'll see what Sera has to say about it though.
Second, we would like to remember Dragnon. For those of you who hadn't had the pleasure of meeting him, Dragnon was one of the founding members of TheReturners. He started playing at the same time Seraphyn and Elerion (who's now returned as Aurelius), a few months before I joined in. Dragnon was our premier red mage for the longest time- being the first of us to get his AF gear, break his limits, and do a variety of the higher level events. His account and belongings have been passed on to Sethra. It is our hope that Dragnon may someday rejoin our group. But in the meantime, there is talk of some of his gear becoming "loaner" gear. We shall see what transpires.

4/1/07:      Well, it may be April Fool's Day but this is no joke. There are a few additions to the site and I'm putting up an announcement for them. Plus another way you guys can send the info to me.
For those that read the blog, you know about the new LS Memebers Photos page that is going up. Well, it's up. Mostly. I still need photos of most the LS Members. To go along with this photo madness, I'll be playing paparazzi and running around on the LS to make sure people have screen shots. Some of you have been too long with out one. If you have a photo or screen shot you'd like to submit, click here.
On top of that addition, there's an info page up now that has various bits of relavent FFXI information on it. Right now it's all images but it's about to get a face lift and will also include written information. Right now only the FFXI Drinking Game (deadly version) and ways to more macros will be going up. If you have something you'd like to contribute, e-mail me.
That is all for now. ^.^

6/25/06:      So... lately I've been updating a bit in the blog portion. I find it's overall easier to use and haven't heard anything one way or the other with it. Important notices I'll post here. Additions to the site... People beating Maat, and getting 75... Requests for help... Things like that.

6/20/06:      And we're back! Sorry about the absence guys. Last term was... stressful.. for myself and well, Sera was a genius and let the magic smoke out of her computer. Funny story that but everything is up and working again for us. So here we are again. It seems that the entire LS went on break during the time as welll, so I don't feel too bad. ^.^
There are some new faces about the LS. Good to see that the LS is growing again. A growing LS is something highly encouraged. However, with the number of new people joining us it'd probably be a good idea to recap some of the stuff going on. When last we left our heroes, Sera was still looking for a LS member to become our Events Coordinator. Job descript is below. Also Sera and I had been batting around the idea of an "LS Help Night" where people can get a little extra help with garrisons, AF, jobs quests, BCNM's, etc. We hadn't really decided one way or another on it so it's still just and idea. Feel free to tell us what you think. Finally, I try to keep the roster list up to date. Which means I need input from all the LS members. You can tell me on the LS if you'd like, or there's a form here. Screenies can be emailed to here.

Footnote from Seraphyn:A little clarification on the direction I'm looking at taking with TheReturners. I've learned over time that an active linkshell is a happy linkshell, so I'm trying to put some events on the calender. Most of our membership is on the lower end of the scale, so obviously this isn't going to be Dynamis or HNMs or what-have-you but there are a million and a half other ls's devoted to that stuff anyway. So what can we do? Garrison, BCNMs, Promyvions, Ballista, etc can all be done @ 20 or 30, and can be a ton of fun. Not to mention the "Help Night" idea we've been batting around for the missions/quests that require a group or hlvl help.
I would like to implement this on a broad scale through the sackholders. One person being an Events Coordinator would be an exhausting job if we run any number of events at all, so I was more thinking of asking the sackholders to run 1-2 events a month each,(or more if they like) of whatever they want to do. We have a fair number of sackholders, so we'd get a goodly number of events going per month and nobody has to sacrifice huge amounts of rl time to giving the rest of us stuff to do. I'm also willing to promote people who are willing to step up and contribute. What do you guys think? I would love to get feedback on this to see if it would be viable for us.

3/23/06:      Well, the LS has been more than a little quite lately. Probably since it's finals week/spring break in most places. Still. We miss people.
Sera has been taking a page from another LS and is looking for a member who would like to be promoted to a sackholder- and in charge of upcoming events. This person would be responsible for scheduling and coordinating LS events. Anybody interested can email us here.

3/2/06:      Okay, more changes going on. The LS has actually had it's first boot. The player shall remain anon here but the reason for the boot is actually simple. If you are pulling BS on the shell and get called on it repeatedly, be a good sport and drop it. If you continue trying to pull BS on the shell, you will be temporarily banned. An invitation will be extended to you by a sack holder after you chat w/ Seraphyn or the person who effected your ban. If you don't want back in, that's your choice but having people spamming BS and being an arse / n00b on the LS is not cool and not appriciated.
In other news, some of our LS members have been breaking their limits. That's right we've got members going up and over 50. Yes, most of them are the former static (more on that in a sec) but that is besides the point. Congrats to those who've made it up and over the 50 mark. You've got a bit to go still.
Yes. The static dissovled. Scheduling became to much of a hassle. Six working adults/students are hard to coordinate together. There have been murmurings of starting again at 60, because XP is hard to come by then. There are also murmurings of a lower lvl static starting up. Somewhere in the teens range. If you are interested, /tell Drya. I'll see what I can do to help organize things.
Last but not least, Sera and I have been chatting about an "LS Help Night". It would involve things like garrisons, quests, missions, extra jobs, AF, etc. Most likely it would be Tuesday nights (Sera's friday nights) and Saturday nights (best night for me). If you're interested, let us know here.

1/29/06:      Hello all! So in my infinite boredom one day, I created a form for character info. It's currently located on the bottom of the roster page as well, but it seemed to be hard to find for Sera. So I'm putting it here too. And with enough feed back, maybe on the standard links to the left too.
And yes, there is talk of disbanding the static. Nothing is currently set in stone. Members are currently meeting to discuss possiblities ranging from rescheduling the party to disbanding for a few months and meeting up again at a set lvl. Again, nothing is set in stone. We will let the people interested know what's up when a decision is reached.

1/23/06:      So uh.. Happy New Year! heh. /blush

Sorry, things have been a little busy in real life here. Needless to say, the site got more than a bit neglected. Many happy changes have been going on in the LS. People have been gaining lvls, others have been trying (sometimes with success, sometimes w/o) BCNM's as a source of gil, the static is over lvl 40, and crafting skill galore. The sad thing is... I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ALL OF IT! E-mail me what is going on with your character! Have they lvled? Maybe you got that extra job you've been dreaming of? Or maybe we even have master craftsmen in our ranks?
And now, a little entertainment at my expense.

12/18/05:      Early announcement, I'll probably add more later. But Daynejah found one of the most awesome screenies I've seen in a while. It's not trimmed down or anything so be patient for load time.
"Okay so let me see it already!"

12/12/05:      Okay, much going on in the linkshell. Many have been gaining lvls, extra jobs, and tons of crafting. There's just one problem. While Seraphyn and I see many of these things occur online, we do a silly thing. We don't write it down. Which means that after a while, the roster is going to be far behind. So if people could do me a wonderful favor, it'd make this whole thing much easier. Email us with your updates. I'm not saying it has to be everytime you level (though my inbox would get delightfully full). Just every week or so, send over and email if there's been major changes.

Most of the LS has been actively crafting. Many have been asking what guilds do not have an active crafter in them. While no one has come forward saying they're crafting in Bonework, all the other guilds have active crafters in them. But! This does not mean that we don't want more! Really, I'd love to see two or three people Masters in their fields. So don't be shy! Craft to your hearts content. The more the merrier.

Finally, various members have been commenting on wanting to start another static party. This is highly encouraged by the webmasters. Look around, see who in the LS is around the levels you are. If you want to post it on the calendar, email the webmasters and we'll put it up. Kindly give us a short blurb about when and the rough lvl ranges and we'll put it up!

12/04/05:    Okay, so most of the site is laid out and there's a new addition! We've added a crafting page for those interested in crafting or getting something crafted for them. Or maybe a little crafting help. Either way, there's a crafting page. Link is on the left or you can click here. Be nice to those crafting or we'll have to hurt you.

12/01/05:    So as you can see, there is a roster. Which means we need your info. Please, send an email to the webmasters with the following information:
  • Character Name
  • Nationality and Rank (if you don't have any, put 0)
  • Jobs levels (the ones you've spent time on and extra jobs)
  • Crafting skills
  • Goals
  • If you don't have a sack and want one, why you should have one. (Sera wants to know)
Also! If you would like to take a bad-ass screenie of your character, you can send that in to. Try to trim the shot down to a manageable size (roughly 300x400 px). If you send in a full size screenie, the webmasters will trim it down and you may not be happy with what we might add to the pic as "flavor". Consider yourself warned.
