Night Scenes

What is it?

An overhead view of the Riverwalk in Chattanooga, Tenn. This section is a switchback climbing a hill underneath the Walnut Street Bridge.

What is it?

This is a view from inside the 200 foot high tower carrying high-power electric lines across the Tenneessee River at the Chickamauga Dam. Looking up to make this picture, I got so dizzy I had to sit on the ground. It felt as if I were falling "up" into the tower. Really strange sensation.

The Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC

The Walnut Street Bridge in Chattanooga. Built in the 1860's the bridge was closed to traffic in 1970. After much debate,it was restored and reopened around 1992 or 93 as the longest pedestrian bridge in the world.

On the Walnut Street Bridge. Benches and flowers make this an attactive location for strolling, jogging or just taking in the view.

The Chickamuaga Dam Electric Switchyard. The two towers in front are about half the size of the big one below (and at top)

A view of the base of the big tower. I would hate to climb that ladder.
