REY ADEL'S COLUMNS: OF STUDENTS

There are three kinds of students. The homobody, the boarder, and the bedspacer.

The HOMEBODY may be a genuine homebody or a commuter, living with his parents or relatives. The BOARDER is living in a strange house with which he shares a room with a number of persons. The BEDSPACER is the typival student-bachelor type who rents a bed, cooks his own food, possesses a set of kitchen paraphennalia, etc. Who among these has the most burden?

Assume they're classmates. We will disregard their curricular activities. Assumme also that they were valedictorians from their respective secondary schools of similar high standards so we could infer that they are on the same intelligence levels. Let us then trace their movements in one typical school day.

The HOMEBODY wakes up early if he is a commuter, then helps in household chores, eats breakfast, and he's off to school. After the morning classes, he's back home helping do the chores, then partakes of lunch. After his meals, he might wash the dishes or he is immediately back to school. As soon as classes are over, he's back home again. Might sometimes go to some movies, stroll, chat with friends, but he must be home before dark to help prepare the dinner, eat supner, watch T.V. or wash the dishes. Finally, he studies his lessons or goes out for a short walk to an errand.

The BOARDER wakes up in time for breakfast, bathes and walks to school. His typical whereabouts are: boarding house, dining table, and school. Same as in the afternoon. He never helps in household chores, although at times he gives a helping hand, because he is at a boarding house and it is not his dear home. After dinner, he studies without interruption. If there are some, it's his own doing or his boardmates.
