poe-try
by rhiannon macgregor
feeling all the syncopation of my heart in it's elation
then you smile with roguish daring, set my wayward soul to caring
no sweet and tender dalliance while you cleave medieval valiance
thus pass all fortune's chances while i bask within your glances

about this poem:
i was jotting this down for poetry day at the poetry club i belong to, and it came out sounding like "the raven", so i called it poe-try. :)
reverberating through my breast as if it would break free
set athunder by your nearness, nourished further by your dearness
it's cacophony continues until words can set it free.
but my tongue expires from breathlessness, the words will never be
do you know how i love thee?
for the man behind adonis' eyes and david's virile form
and my pulse, see how it races, as your charm my mood displaces
leaving me aquit of all dark secret thoughts, forlorn.
between your friendship and your love my hesitance is torn
no courageousness reborn.
to your breast as if to touch me would defile my very core
and my heart's erratic beating in my breast is so mistreating
my courage to reach out to you and beg for something more
is it fear that stills my hand from pushing open eros' door
forfend! i crave this chore
and abscond to dreamed-of places where you suspire for my regard
a misused opportunity advanced by feigned immunity
with passion, your defenses, my spurious wits bombard
in the dream that i created which my waking cannot guard
from which all else is barred.
