The Lord asked me to read the book of 2 Peter. When I arrived at 2 Peter 3:10 He stopped me:
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." ---2 Peter 3:10
The Lord then quickened to my remembrance the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. This year a record $61 Million was raised (the actual last tote board figure read $61,013,855, not to mention corporate sponsorship in the mega-millions).
$61 MILLION DOLLARS for research for a cure for a disease that JESUS BORE UPON HIS BACK. For BY HIS STRIPES THEY WERE ALL HEALED FROM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH. One might have instead asked the Lord what BETTER use He had set aside for all this money. But beyond that the Lord said ANY THING THAT IS NOT DONE AS UNTO GOD IS A WORK OF THE FLESH - AND IT SHALL NOT STAND...it shall be burned up. For truly if God was the heart of all things that each and every person did or did not do, if God was consulted on whether or not to do something like this, do you honestly believe He would allot 61 MILLION DOLLARS (plus the corporate sponsorship millions) TO A DISEASE?!?!?!
But you might argue, "It's a good, noble, worthy cause".
And you were moved with compassion for those paraded in front of the cameras (if not this year then quite probably at SOME POINT during the history of this thing).
BUT THE WORD OF GOD SAYS that when JESUS HIMSELF was moved with compassion He did not pray, He did not send money - He either HEALED THEM or HE SENT HIS WORD AND HEALED THEM!!! How many Christians watching - at that moment when you were moved with compassion - spoke as Jesus would have spoken, "ARISE AND WALK" "THOU ART HEALED" ???
Brethren it is only when Jesus Himself and His heart and His ways are SO ENMESHED IN YOU...become SO MUCH A PART OF YOU THAT HE ISN'T EVEN A MERE PART OF YOU BUT HE HAS TAKEN OVER YOU....so tht every waking moment you are locked into this awareness of heavenly realm purposes that you then begin to listen for Him to instruct every moment of every day...so that THEN upon watching a bunch of lame, crippled, INFIRMITY-BOUND INDIVIDUALS MADE IN THE LIKENESS OF ALMIGHTY GOD....THEN, WHEN THEIR STORIES AND 'SEEMING PLIGHT' THAT REVEALS ITSELF IN THE NATURAL is made known unto you, INSTEAD YOU SEE ALL THINGS WITH THE EYES OF HIS SPIRIT - FOR THEN YOU WILL NOT ONLY SEE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME BECAUSE IT WILL BE HIS EYES LOOKING OUT THROUGH YOUR EYES...
BUT SAINTS OF GOD - IMAGINE HIS POWER, HIS GLORY THAT WILL MANIFEST EACH AND EVERY MOMENT OF EACH AND EVERY DAY - TO THEN LOOK AT THESE NEEDY ONES AND KNOW THAT THEY ARE WHOLE IN HIM....
THEN YOU WOULD SPEAK HEALTH FORTH IN ABSOLUTE FAITH AND ASSURENCE...
"Then and only then shall 'and even greater works than these' truly begin to come to pass," SAITH THE LORD (2:45 a.m.)
