| The PKB is a general-purpose machinegun mounted on armored personnel carriers. The machinegun is placed on a special mount that collects it with armored personnel carrier bracket to impart a barrel into the required direction during firing.
The PKB mount is metallic. It is outfitted with a swivel to ensure machinegun traverse and sector for its elevation, bracket for cartridge box, frame to connect machinegun with mount and a bag to collect fired cartridge cases.
After upgrading the PK machinegun, it was designated the PKM and the armored personnel carrier machinegun version was designated the PKMB. The PKB differs from the PKMB in weight |
