QUERY SESSION

Displays information about sessions on a terminal server. The list includes information not only about active sessions but about other sessions that the server runs.


Syntax

QUERY SESSION /?

QUERY SESSION [{user_name | session_name | session_id}] [/connect] [/counter] [/flow] [/mode] [/server:server_name]


Parameters
session_id (NTXP)
The ID of the session you want to query.
If omitted, displays information about all active sessions in the system.
session_name (NTXP)
The name of the session you want to query.
If omitted, displays information about all active sessions in the system.
user_name (NTXP)
The name of the user whose sessions you want to query.
If omitted, displays information about all active sessions in the system.

/? (NTXP)
Displays help.
/connect (NTXP)
Displays current connect settings.
/counter (NTXP)
Displays current counters information, including the total number of sessions created, disconnected, and reconnected.
/flow (NTXP)
Displays current flow-control settings.
/mode (NTXP)
Displays current line settings.
/server:server_name (NTXP)
Identifies the terminal server to query. The default is the current server.
/system (NTXP)
Specifies that current information about system processes is displayed. If you do not want system processes to be displayed, do not use this switch.

Notes

A user can always query the session to which the user is currently logged on. To query other sessions, the user must have Query Information access permission.

When query session returns information, a less than (<) symbol is displayed before the current session.
