Important: I don't have card images for all cards so, if you want to know what a card does, either go to the spoiler pages, or download the Apprentice Patch, which features all of the decks in .dec format.

Welcome to the Palouranos tournament center! Here is the place to find all about the cool decks we developers came up with while balancing Palouranos. The format is Rick's Standard, and includes my previous block, Verdict, and Palouranos, standalone set for the Palouranos block. You can see how the environment looked like before on the Revenge Tournament Center.
If you have tried your hands at building a Rick's Standard deck, you can send it to me at ricklongo at gmail dot com. If your deck is really competitive, I'll add it to this list, along with your credits for coming up with it.

With the powerful choices featured in Palouranos, I'm proud to announce that White Weenie is probably the deck to beat in Rick's Standard. The deck now is revolves around the powerful enchantment Communal Cause, which came in handy along with the of really efficient one-drops available for white.

RB Pillar is basically a LD deck that seeks to abuse the power of Pillar of Unfulfilled Dreams. Fetid Edge guarantees that every single spell you play is infused. Aside from LD, the deck packs burn, creature kill, and finishers like Stretching Demon and Melanotic Poltergeist. The deck has a hard time beating White Weenie, especially if a Communal Cause resolves, but has wonderful matchups again most control decks.

R/G Materialism, one of the most powerful pre-Palouranos decks, has morphed into a monored version, to take advantage of the powerful monocolor cards in the new block. The deck is more consistent, and still seeks to abuse Materialism. In game 2, the deck can bring in LD cards to combat other control decks.

Mono-White Control

3 Battlefield Prayer
2 Build City
27 other spells
4 Besiege
4 Peace and Calm
4 Windborne Reward

Mono-White is another powerful control choice. It edges out U/W Control due to the possibility of running cards like Justus's Prohibition and Tatalos. It has a hard time against LD, but has good matchups against aggro and other control decks.

Ephemerous Delight
Rick's Standard deck

this deck
for Apprentice
Main Deck (60 cards) Sideboard
17 Forest
1 Kentros
18 land

4 Gardenwatch Elf
4 Windsearch Druid
4 Locaran Acolyte
3 Aeopus, Kentros Liege
3 Elvish Naturalist
3 Retritherion
3 Circus Flutist
2 Ophine Archer
2 Glowing Dryad

4 Exotic Scent
4 Flowerbloom Season
12 other spells
2 Ophine Archer
3 Model the Will
3 Frozen Clover
4 Spirit of Commitment
3 Sylvan Tribute
15 sideboard cards

Ephemerous Delight is still an abusive deck that can win as soon as turn 3, given a good hand. Its late game was improved a little with the awesome card drawing power of Aeopus, Kentros Liege. Against white decks, it has became a bit weaker, since the deck is very vulnerable to Schemes of Victory.

Mono-Blue Control
Rick's Standard deck
Download
this deck
for Apprentice
Main Deck (60 cards) Sideboard
17 Island
1 Noimos
3 Grounds of the Aeon
21 land

4 Silver-Veil Limnades
4 Mindburst Limnades
3 Great Debater
3 Lifetime Banisher
2 Scylla of the Great Lake
16 creatures
2 Mists of the Great Lake

3 Eyes of Oloi-Mystikos
2 Obvious Hypothesis
23 other spells
4 Deceitful Delivery
4 Shifting Doubt
4 Wash Out
3 Alchemist's Brason
15 sideboard cards

Mono-Blue features tons of card drawing in both spells and creatures. Its main plan is to draw, counter and bounce until it can set up an infused, game-ending Scylla of the Great Lake. Its worst matchups are fast, aggressive decks, and most of its sideboard slots are dedicated to beating them.

U/W Trove

this deck

Main Deck (60 cards) Sideboard
7 Plains
6 Island
2 Skyscape Fields
3 Grounds of the Aeon
4 Frozen Surface
22 land

3 Watch of the Circles
3 Flashwing Celestral
1 Astral Traveler
7 creatures
4 Avenging Light
3 Battlefield Prayer
3 Eternal Allegro

4 Shifting Doubt
3 Bubble Burst
4 Witflow Season
2 Brass Medal
31 other spells
4 Lifetime Banisher
4 Repress
4 Windborne Reward
3 Wash Out
15 sideboard cards

U/W Trove decreased in power, since it fails to take advantage of most of the powerful monocolor cards in Palouranos. Still, it's a very viable choice, and where it lacks Mono-White's and Mono-Blue's consistency, it has a wider range of answers.

Mono-Black Aggro
Rick's Standard Constructed deck
Download
this deck

Main Deck (60 cards) Sideboard
21 Swamp
1 Fedes
22 land

4 Rogue Goodsharer

3 Queen's Ultimatum
15 other spells
4 Shifting Rascal
4 Undead's Uproar
4 Sinister Call
3 Lurk in Shadows
15 sideboard cards

Mono-Black is another viable aggro deck. It has a good matchup against white weenie, and against control, it packs a lot of discard.

4 Lavaspit Season
20 other spells
4 Aether Aspersion
4 Enenah Bulwark
4 Searing Mage
2 Thatos, Son of Fire

Mono-Red Aggro is a deck chock full of aggressive creatures, burn, and land destruction. If Hydra of the Ashen Peaks hits play and its controller untaps, it's pretty much game over.
