Set for Magic: the Gathering |
Welcome to the Palouranos set home page! Palouranos is the standalone set for the Palouranos Block, featuring 286 all-new cards.
In a ravaged world abandoned by gods, five countries fight everyday against each other for survival. The strongest thing they got is their unity. That's why Palouranos brings a monocolor theme that will make you exploit each color's powers to the fullest, with the Infuse and Amity mechanics. But that's not all: the Militance mechanic brings more spice to the combat math, and the Schemes will help you recover from lopsided situations. Palouranos has been designed for playing with Apprentice (download the full patch on the bottom of this page). Please give it a try. If you want someone to play against, drop me a line at ricklongo at gmail dot com. |

New Mechanics Infuse (This card is infused if you spent only mana of its color to play it.) - Infuse appears on instant and sorcery spells. They also appear on permanents, but only as comes-into-play effects, to avoid memory issues. - Whenever a card with infuse would resolve, the game checks to see if the infuse trigger was activated. If it wasn't, the card resolves without the infuse part. If it was, it resolves with the infuse part. Amity- Text (This card has amity if all nonland, nonartifact permanents you control share a color with it.) - Amity applies if all nonland, nonartifact permanents you control share a color with the amity card. Whenever this condition changes, the card loses its amity ability as a state-based effect. Militance X (Whenever this is dealt combat damage, put X +1/+1 counter on it.) - Militance appears only on creatures. - The counters are only put after combat ddamage has been dealt, and, of course, only if the creature remains in play. |
Palouranos Block's Theme - Monocolor With Palouranos Block and its monocolor theme, you will be able to push each color's limits. As we all know, every color has its weaknesses. To push the monocolor theme, I tried to make up for those weaknesses with twists on the colors' themes and mechanics. Most of them are reserved for later in the block, but you can see, for example, how a monored deck might be able to overcome Circle of Protection: Red with a card like Searing Mage, or how can white get a flavorful, straightforward land searcher in Build City. |
