Decks to Beat White Weenie
This deck is, like most of you may guess, pretty straightforward. It plays efficient creatures (most of them with flying) and beats down, delivering some combat tricks in the meantime. What makes this deck really viable is a white enchantment named Angelic Blessing, which will generate card advantage while preventing your creatures from dying, so that you can deal the final blows. (I don't currently have images for all cards, so please see what each card does either on Apprentice or in the spoiler.) |

How the deck works Your goal is to drop creatures as fast as you can, protect them with Kampa Motto and Angelic Blessing, remove eventual threats with Repress, and kill your opponent. Simple as that. You have two copies of Cloudfighter Celestral because UW Trove and Materialism are both extremely vulnerable to enchantment removal. If the game goes on, you have Flashwing Celestral, which is nearly unkillable late game, to deliver the final blows. Tips There is only one patch to victory here: beat down. Many of your creatures have evasion in the form of flying, and they become harder to kill due to Angelic Blessing and the highly versatile Kampa Motto. There is no secret here - just unchain those Veteran Colonels and go for it. Matchups UW Trove - This matchups provides you with the card combination you don't want to see: Trove of Beliefs and Watch of the Circles. The Watch by itself is very bad for you as well. You can get around Repress, but there's no getting around this bad boy. You definitely want to win here before the opposing Watches get going, so that you can bring in those sneaky four copies of Sustroke and stop the monster. Other than that, this is an all around hard matchup that you'll have to struggle to win. Be very aggressive here, and keep in mind that once they have both Trove and Watch in play for a couple of turns, there's just no way you'll win this match without sideboard. Other thing that goes against you here is that all of his creatures are white, so Veteran Colonel will pump them too, making it nearly impossible to get past his deffense. Make no mistake though; your offensive is strong and you can win this match really quickly given a reasonably good hand. For the sideboard, you should get rid of your Represses and a couple other less-than-optimal cards in this matchup and bring in all four Sunstrokes and the remaining two Cloudfighter Celestrals. The Celestrals just doom them, since they rely completely on enchantments to beat you. They will probably bring in Frontline Tension, but that's just another enchantment. They lack a truly devastating Wrath effect, so develop your board position at will. After sideboarding things get a bit easier, but this is still a very tough matchup. RG Materialism - This matchup is no honey either, what makes White Weenie the worst deck out of the Tier 1 group. Your plan, once again, is to beat down. Your MVP's here are Golden Pegasus, which can only be removed via Ophine Archer; and the protectors, namely Kampa Motto and Angelic Blessing. What will doom you in this match is either 1) He will remove most of your creatures until he sets up his combo; or 2) He will draw a beatdown hand with multiples Goblin Firehandlers, along with some more removal. If you manage to put two or three Golden Pegasus into play, along with a nifty Kampa Motto to pump them, you're probably gonna win. Your sideboard plan here may vary. You may either want to bring in the remaining copies of Cloudfighter Celestrals to fight his combo, or you may just bring in Sunstroke to stop most of their creatures (especially Goblin Firehandler and Ophine Archer); but, either way, you must bring in Kampa Weaponships, to help finish him sooner with your Pegasi.
