Pointless dribble |
The following entry has no literary value whatsoever. I'm too tired to rewrite it and my brain isn't on the subject anymore. Instead I'm dreaming about moving to Brazil and never feeling cold again… Mmmm…. Oh… I'm still here. So, without further ado, here's what I wrote earlier today. So what have you been doing during the weekend? I'll tell you what I did. I wallpapered my flat. For two days. And it's still not done. It's absolutely insane how much time everything takes when it has something to do with the Hellhole. I swear, it seems like the place exists in a different time zone. At least I can console myself with the fact that the bigger room is done. It had the more complicated wallpaper - one that actually had a pattern to follow. The bedroom is smaller and the wallpaper there is also simpler. Plus, Lynn's promised to help me with it so it might not be so terrible. If you're thinking that the beginning of a new paragraph relieves you of the Hellhole stuff then you're sadly mistaken. Because nothing can stop me from writing about it until I've finally finished it. Hah! There! OK, OK, I can hear the 'remove' buttons being pushed at the notify list. I'd say these entries will go on for a few more weeks - I intend to move in on the 13th or the 14th of September. So bear with me! Also I feel that I've had more than my share of troubles with that place. I shall upload a page dedicated only to the Hellhole so you'll get a chronological overview of my apartment hunt but, for now, let me assure you that it's not easy. Actually it's annoying as hell. Just one example: I got the rent/utilities check and it said that last months rent wasn't paid. That was something the previous owners were supposed to do. And when I called them, the guy I bought it from didn't answer his phone. That's when I started freaking out! I mean, I just paid him a substantial sum of money and now he refuses to pay what was his due. Thoughts of midnight stalking and legal battles were soon to follow. And then I remembered I also knew his wife's number. Maybe I could get her to answer the phone if I called from my office number? That was a sneaky move but it also turned out to be quite unnecessary. She was very pleasant and said they didn't know the account number or the sum to be paid. Hopefully they'll pay it and that's the last I have to worry about that. Today I spent a lot of money and got nothing substantial in return. I bought two lamps and a small cupboard for the kitchen. But it's fun to walk around in the furniture store and imagine what I would buy if I was - oh, let's say - a million times richer. Until I am, I should probably just make do with what I have. Just an update: the chronological overview of the history of the Hellhole is ready and can be read here. It is to be updated every time something of interest happens.
