My Tuesday

As my first entry in 2004 (resolutions don't really count as an entry, do they?) I intend to write something awfully boring to everybody but myself. The following is going to be the chronological overview of Jan 6 in 2004 as seen through the eyes of Kristi. If you're reading it under the assumption that I have a very interesting everyday life (everyone knows about the thrills of being an accountant after all) then I think you're going to be disappointed. I'm trying to improve it, though... The resolution to lead a more varied life is not dead yet.

07:00 Wake-up call! I dream of a rich man who's money would let me sleep in the morning.
07:19 I have showered, found some breakfast and sit down to watch the episode of the Agency that I taped last night. I tend to have the TV on every morning so I have something to watch (i.e listen) when I go through my morning routine.
08:03 I find that no amount of running would allow me to get to the bus-stop in time. I decide to take the next bus and sit down to watch last night's Roswell.
08:43 Running out of the building because I'm in danger of missing the next bus. (TV is evil, people!)
08:48 Walking towards the bus-stop and dreaming of being in Rome during the summer.
09:17 I arrive to my office and decide that a little trip to the store is in order.
09:24 I finally get to my desk. My boss is here but he'll be gone soon.
09:30 Reading my e-mail, my daily comics and the journal entries that have been written in the last 24 hours. Mo is back AND she's writing a new Sims entry. I'm thinking I should read her previous stuff again for the n-th time (you should too, by the way! They're hilarious!)
10:03 And the new day has begun on neopets. I'm going to make my rounds.
10:31 Stuck on the chat boards on neopets - as usual. Not as tragic as it may seem since I'm alone at the office and, after my two week vacation, need someone to bring me up to speed.
10:33 Go to get the mail.
10:43 Damn! Another survey to fill out for the Statistical Office. I think they operate pretty much like spam distributors. If they find that you're likely to answer them they will drown you in paperwork.
12:41 Everybody promised to be back by noon. Nobody's here yet. And I'm tired of the games on neopets. Going to eat at the Damned Place and then find something to keep myself busy.
13:21 Back from lunch. I could've sat there all day and read Mansfield Park but my conscience reminded me that it's time to get back to work. I even find some work to be done. It only proves that if you really want to find work it will appear.
15:17 My boss arrives again but keeps running around as usual and gives me no information I can use.
16:21 Everything that can be done is done for the day. I'm going to chat with Chris for awhile.
17:02 Leaving the office.
17:57 Since I'm incredibly lazy and do not feel like cooking at home I go to the pizza place and get a pizza. At least it's fast!
18:24 At home again.
19:28 I begin the other accounting assignment I'm doing for a friend. Some Ally McBeal episode is playing on TV.
19:29 My mum calls and asks me to "hack" into her work mailbox since she needs her downstairs neighbour's phone number. Apparently there's a flood in the apartment, there's nobody home and consequently the water for the whole building has been turned off. There is no phone number in her e-mail so the water won't be turned on. She threatens to invade the Hellhole.
19:36 I continue to begin the accounting assignment. (Ironically, this weird sentence describes my working habits very well. I think about doing something, I procrastinate and then I finish everything much faster than expected.)
21:37 The accounting's done for the day since I can't really see the text on the screen anymore. There's only so many hours you can stare at the computer monitor without your eyes putting up a fight.
I start the complicated process of making tea instead. Checking my mail reveals that Beth has updated. I start reading. (note to self: apparently the eyes don't mind if I stare at something I actually want to stare at. This knowledge could be useful!)
22:58 Getting ready for bed.

Reading this makes me feel too much of my life is connected to the computer. Just count the links provided during this! I really should get out more!

Part of the journal that attempts to describe my current mood using pop culture

movie mood:
anything - I'd watch anything before doing some work. All in line with my procrastinating philosophy.

music mood:
Best of... - Listening to my own choice of best songs in the world.
food cravings:
Soup - Any good soups out there? I'm tired of solid foods.
