The wind must turn the sails of Akmena windmill  !

In y. 2000 due to economic crisis in Lithuania Akmena Windmill restoration financial problem has arisen. Because of it The Municipality of Anyksciai could not support any Akmena windmill restoration works in y. 2000, as it was intended. Situation was not excellent... Here The Department of Lithuanian Cultural Heritage Protection has found possibility to save situation by granting about one third of the funds needed. The owner of mill, has obliged to fund the rest two thirds of restoration expenses. The ice was broken and the matter went forth. Mills capped head is on its neck.

Wind mill restoration is a large and precious work. It can not be done by owners only. In best case financial aid from government is little over ten thousand dollars or nothing. I hope, you will ascend, that it is too little to an historic windmill, whose all wooden details were completely fired. That’s why sponsorship is needed. As a rule a larger part of work is being done by our own company forces and with our own building materials – we have our own coniferous forest. For this reason almost every work can be done for much less price, than it is in west Europe countries. On the other hand any other collaboration suggestions are welcomed.
