83-2722 Gibson 1916 F-4, 29785, cherry sunburst, exc-, OH. Having the delicately inlaid button Handel tuners (imported from the Fatherland) this Florentine figure reflects, in every way, the elegance and style of the late Victorian era from which its appointments originally derived. The large, ivoroid bound, bass side body scroll balances the two sharp points on the treble, and the peghead, ivoroid bound with a tiny fillip on the bass and a small completed scroll on the treble, bears a script logo and flowery urn which image, combined, covers nearly five inches.
Mandolin Brothers

The oval soundhole is itself ivoroid bound and surrounded by a large rosette of twin half-herringbone in wood and celluloid. The back is one-piece of tiger striped maple, and the laminated neck is birch and ebony. Other than having light normal signs of wear and a pickguard that ran off with a Virzi Tone Producer on an Indian summer evening in 1924 (the cad), this is as clean, inviting and brilliant as they come. **$4015
