Nothing too exciting going on right now... Last night Kenny surprised me and took me out to Claim Jumpers for a small dinner and a LARGE dessert!  It was quite fun.

Tonight we will finish our US Coast Guard Boating Safety class and earn our certificate- just as long as we pass the test...  We'll let you all know...

My (Jen) parents and sister are coming out this weekened to visit.  It has been aboput one month since my dad took that awful fall from the room and he is already up and traveling!  What a great and strong guy he is!  What a miracle God did in saving his life!

Well, that is all for now- we'll update this after the weekend...

These last two weekends have been a blast!

First we were visited by Jen's parents- it was so amazing to see how quickly Dad has healed... he was out fishing and sailing with no problems whatsoever.  Praise God!

The next weekend was spent with Kenny's parents.  We went to the boat, of course, and then to Viejas...cha-ching!

The boat has been so great.  We spend many afternoons just relaxing and fishing on board.  The other day we caught 3 or 4 sea bass, 5 halibut and an OCTOPUS!  What fun!

Everything we own is broken!  Our car is broken and is going into the shop tomorrow.  Our airplane is broken, our boat is broken, and my dad's truck that we were using is broken!

Let's just focus on the truck and the boat for now as I tell the story about our weekend...  Friday night was spent fishing and hanging out with friends, a seemingly wonderful start to a wonderful weekend.  Saturday we woke up excited about the day ahead.  We were to go out to the boat and spend the day sailing and then drive up to Lancaster (a 3 hour drive) to return my dad's truck that night, with the hope of returning to San Diego Sunday afternoon.

The first part of our plan was executed without a hitch- the weather was perfect for sailing and we all had a great time... that is until we had to return to out mooring.  There were 3 luxery power boats blocking our way (not one made any attempt to move...).  As we tried to motor around them, we discovered that our outboard  had melted somehow and their was no where to go because of the other boat so into the jetty we went... Thankfully no one was hurt and the boat only suffered minor injuries (the rudder snapped in half!

Well, as you may remember, we still had to bring my dad's truck to him that night.  As we started on our 3 hour drive, I noticed a strange sound and feel to the brakes.  Long story short, the brake pads were gone and there was no safe way that we could continue the drive.  The next day, Kenny fixed most of the problem and we were able to return the somewhat working vehicle... It was a looong day!

Now we are back at home, a bit tired, but safe and none the worse off.  Sometimes adventures are like that...

Ahoy ye Matey!  Today was the maiden voyage of our 24' American Sailboat!

After a nerve racking 20 minute drive to the bay with the boat bouncing up and down on the trailer, we finally  launched her out into the deep blue sea (actually it was only Mission Bay...)

We took her over to Sail Bay and cruised around for most of the day.  It was absolutely perfect sailing weather!  There is really nothing else like having the sea wind in your face and spending the day without anything else to think about other than having a good time.

Everyone should get themselves one of these!
