Hey everybody. I guess the only news we have presently is to announce our first place win at the Brockville Legion Talent Contest last SUN. We ended up being bumped up to the 19 and over category, because of the lack of other entries in the 13-18 group (which turned out to be untrue, due to many late applicants). No matter though, even up against stiff competition such as bands Starbreeze (who took 3rd) and Last Standing Defense, the judges were stunned by one of our best ever performances of "WHEN" and we managed to take the win. The whole day was a blast (including the celebratory ice cream and water-skiing), and we'd like to thank all of the other competitors; we are very proud of our performance, but that is not to say that any of the other were bad, in our opinion, there should have been many more winners. We were awarded the Col. Bill Watson Memorial Brockville Legion Talent Contest Trophy, as well as a cash prize of $175. Mic stands, here we come...

Our last show, at Victoria Park Village for their annual Victoria Day party turned out to be a great success. With only one slight technical error, the show went on without a hitch, and we were asked to play an encore performance of "Closing Time" and "WHEN". Our thanks go out to the entire village for providing us with such a pleasant audience (sorry, we don't do any Pat Benetar ;-) ) and the host and hostess of the party; unfortunately we didn't think to ask permission to put your names up, but you know who you are--thank you.

Ouch. We would like to apologize to everyone at the Dandelion Festival who had to listen to us ;-)! Definitely not our best show! We had a little trouble deciding on which songs to play for our set, and ended up doing Stairway instead of 'Shook Me, which led to some really rough tuning problems, and some pretty wretched trumpet playing (by us, not Grampa Gummeson, who never misses a note :-) ). Despite these problems, we were still offered some possible shows later this summer by new-country band Bordertowne, namely the Hope Beach Volleyball Tournament, which unfortunately, Brian and Alex will not be able to attend because of personal vacation time. Sorry!

Thurs. June 7th, 2001

Once again, our sincerest thank you's go out to all of the students and faculty as well as all of the members of our community who came out to watch the St. Michaels's Summer Festival of the Arts. The evening turned out to be a great succes, not only for us, but as well as our fellow performers. We managed to pull out what we believed was one of our best shows ever, where we performed our two compositions, "WHEN", and "Come Alive". We look forward to playing at the school again in the future, and would like to thank everyone who attended.

This past Saturday, we got the oppurtunity to take part in the annual Youth For Christ Battle of the Bands in Brockville. Competing against bands Bleeding at the Hip, Midday Blackout, Liberty Caps, and soloist Michael Trolly, we placed second, winning a half hour set at RiverFest on Monday, a Cd collection of bands Dumb As Sheep, Everflow, and Thousand Foot Krutch, and a six-pack of Coca-Cola Classic. Not bad, eh? Our thanks go out to the staff of Youth For Christ, and all of the day's volunteers for a very enjoyable afternoon and evening. We hope to have pictures of the day up as soon as possible.
