La Martiniere for Boys
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A grand old school, founded more than a 150 years ago... I was in it from Class XI - XII. It made a deep impact on my life and I have plenty of great memories. The principla at the time was Mr. Donald M. Alney, more popularly known as Don. A cultures man with immaculate manners, he was strict but fair with all. He stood for no nonsense and earned his respect the hard way. Most of us were shit-scared of him. Rumor had it that he would whip students if the situation called for it. However, in my two years, I never found a fault with him. jeez, I even helped him in getting his stereo deck repaired at my uncle's electronics shoppe (Neo-Electronix, for those of u countless mendicants who bought stuff from there and never paid up).
A side view of the Round Chappel if u approach it from the Bellevue-gate
The frontal face of the school... it could use a round of paint.
La Martiniere for Girls... across the street. A welcome break from the strains of LMB, for some it was as close to heaven as they could get. The twin socials we had with LMG, Founder's Day (Sept. 13) & Karma Yatra were the highpoints of the school year. The underground parties and clubs were hot !! For those of u who were there... DHISCO !
