I've heard it said
Time and again
In many a' place
By many men
What they would do
If they were God:
"I'd make the world
A wonderful Place --
On every person,
A smiling face."
Said one
Unhappy man.
"We'd all be warm
And Clothed and Fed
And sleep all night
In our own warm bed."
Said a hungry,
Homeless man.
"I'd find a cure
For every disease
And lengthen each life
For as long as they please."
Said a sickly,
Dying old man.
Little do these
People know
Just how badly
Things would go
If these wishes
All came true.
For without sickness,
What is health?
Without Poverty,
What is wealth?
Without Bad
There is no Good,
And nothing could be
As it should.
