In March 1999 I decided that I was going to Import an MR2 Turbo from Japan . My friend had already bought an Impreza STI from "NewEra Imports" and the car was absolutely stunning so I decided that I would take the risk of sending my money half way around the world for a car I had only seen in a photo. Anyway in July my new toy arrived and it was everything I wished for and more the specification is listed below. |

FIRST IMPRESSIONS When I finally got to see my new toy I couldn't believe the fantastic condition it was in. I has seen how good my friends Impreza was but I thought that was an exception. My new Turbo didn't even have one sign of a pin dent . All panels were totally straight and factory standard. The passsenger door had a surface scratch that could be polished out but other than that it was mint. AFTERMARKET EXTRAS The car came with a few extras that were not standard equiment. Firstly there was a set of 16" Sparco Racing Split Rim Alloys which had gold centres and polished chrome outers. They were stunning wheels and in fantastic condition but I was unsure of how much they suited the bluish silver body colour. Secondly it had a Kakimoto Racing Stainless Steel Exhaust which had a beautiful polished chrome rear silencer but unfortunately sported a single 5.5" tailpipe which certainly wasn't my preferred choice of finish. Other than that the exhaust was in excellent condition and the build quality was superb, it was obviously am expensive item. The only other modification I could find was the addition of a Quickshift (Thanks to John Peden) and a RAZO Turbo timer. |
