This card is a great for any direct damage deck. Personally, I think it much more fun to play with than Chain Energy or Toll. Direct Damage decks seem to go for more stall and less speed. Stall is generally not a good strategy, but speed is. Burning Land can seriously speed up any Direct Damage deck, if you ever get to play it down.

One major problem, they made a new ruling that say that there has to be field card in play to use it. That makes you chance of being able to use it next to nothing, because not too many people use field cards. Hopefully that should change in the near future with the release of Lost City of Atlantis and Fusion Gate.

Burning Land is really an interesting card... its real effect is the 500 damage per turn, because field card use has really gone down.  I myself have never seen a competitive duelist use field magic cards in the time that the last two expansions have been out.

Burn decks, however, can always use this card.  It's a common, it's an easy 500 damage, and no upkeep.  I can easily say this is a staple for all burn.
