Fusion Gate
Rating: 3/5

Type: Field Magic
Effect:
As long as this card remains face-up on the field, a fusion monster can be Special Summoned without using "Polymerization". The Fusion-Materiel monsters used in the Fusion are not sent to the Graveyard, but are removed from play.

The great thing about this card is that it lets you use a fusion whenever you want, as many times as you want. People right now seem to think that you can't reborn the monster you fuse with this card if its destroyed, but you can as long as you use the 2+ cards it mentions on the fusion monster. Fusion Gate is easier to destroy than poly, but harder for your opponent to stop the fusion once the Gate is out (they cant Jammer the Fusion Gate if its already out etc.).

Removing some of the peices from play isn't always a major drawback. However, for cards like B. Skull Bragon, it is. You have to remove 2 powerful monsters, at least as far as monster reborn goes. In addition, your opponent can use your Fusion Gate. If they have a summoned skull and a change of heart, and you have a Red-Eyes out, they get a Black Skull Dragon if they want one.

3/5 Easy to destroy, usable by your opponent, but you can use it to summon several Fusion Monsters.

I was excited about this card until I saw that Poly was a common in Joey Starter deck.  Oh, well.

Fusion Gate is a fun card.  It's a reusable Polymerization.  You're probably better off with 2 of these than 3 Polymerizations if you're playing simply for the fusions.  Black Skull Dragon is a bigger threat now than it was before.  And you have to admit, fusing is fun.

This card has 2 major problems, though.  First, you can't fuse a Red-Eyes and a Summoned Skull, get the Black Skull Dragon, then Monster Reborn the Skull because it's removed from play.  Out of play is not a good place for cards.  Second, it can work for your opponent.  This isn't always that big of a deal though.  Not too many people play stuff they can fuse unless they have their own card to fuse them.  Still, I know that Im going to keep a Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon around because I use Thunder Dragons in my Exodia deck.  It's kind of nice to get out a big monster like that off of your opponent's card.  And they become fillers for cards like Miracle Dig.  Use with caution.

Overall, not a bad card.  If you like your fusion monsters, play this. If you prefer to be able to get back your fusion material, play Poly. I give Fusion Gate a 3/5.
