I was a little skeptical of this card at first, considering
the fact that it is a triggered trap. I tried it out for a couple of games
with little luck, so I side-decked the card. After sometime, I decided to
add it back in and try it out some more. I'm starting to like the card a
lot better. It's nice to have an extra card that can clear the field of monsters.
It's a great anti-yata, and it's also a great card to help you get the Yata-lock
going.
The fact that it's triggered is the reason it isn't restricted. This card
would be too powerful if it wasn't. Fortunately, the trigger for this card
happens frequently. You can use this card with your own summon if you want
to, and you can always use it to kill off a few pesky scapegoats.
3.9/5 Try one out, see how it works for you.

This is one of my favorite trap cards. A lot of people don't like
it, but I for one do. It's almost as good as a second Dark Hole. It
is a trap, and it does have a trigger, but the effect is worth it to me.
It's one of six traps that the 2002 Asian Champion had in his deck (the
others being Imperial Order, Magic Cylinder, Mirror Force, Call of the Haunted,
and Destruction Ring), so it definitely has its uses. I would say that
Torrential Tribute is probably one of the 5 most universally helpful trap
cards. It's one of the few traps that can really be helpful in pretty
much ANY deck. That says a lot.
The downsides, as I said, are that it has to be in response to a specific
trigger, and it is vulnerable to magic/trap removal. And there isn't
anything you can do if your opponent sets a monster. But still, it's
a very powerful card, and you can activate it off of your own summon if necessary,
so it's very much worth it.
Rating: 4/5. FAR superior to Trap Hole and Bottomless Trap Hole.
I strongly recommend that you play one of these.

Possibly a better Mirror Force. If you have it, play it. Nothing else
to say besides it's a staple now.
