RTR Trail Trial Results:
September 11th, 2005

 

GREAT DAY FOR TRAIL TRIALS!

The Rockwood Trail Riders Annual Trail Horse Trials took place on a great day for a horse ride. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. More than 30 riders participated either as competitors or as pleasure riders and enjoyed the barbecue afterwards. There were 10 obstacles to be negotiated and a lovely ride through the cedar bush back in the camp behind the showgrounds. The obstacles this year included a trailer, wood pile, up & down hill, back up, bridge, drag, gate, ground tie and firewalk. Would like to have seen a few more of you giving it a try as we have room for extras – both competitors and pleasure riders. Pleasure riders can bypass the obstacles!

Meanwhile, thanks to Greg Dales and helpers who set up the obstacles and marked the trail, our judges Jean Pettit, Moe Mc Guinness, Linda Liddle, Anne Dales and Stan Whiston and everyone else who helped out. Special thanks to Denise Turner for donating the delicious devilled eggs for the meal. And thanks to those competitors and pleasure riders who did turn out and make the day a success once again.
