The Rodeo City Riders Drill Team began in 1999 when six riders carried flags into the arena, and performed a simple routine at the Manawa Mid-Western Rodeo. Each following year brought improvements in all aspects of the drill team: length and complexity of the routine, better costumes for both horses and riders, more performances and competitions, and more team members every year. The Rodeo City Riders Drill Team can be seen every Fourth of July weekend at their home base in Manawa, at all four performances of the Mid-Western Rodeo. The team has traveled as far as Louisville, Kentucky to ride in the famous 'Mane Event' at Equitana, USA where they performed as part of a 45-horse drill team in the opening ceremonies each evening, and for the Grand Finale after the Mane Event shows. They have also become a standard at the Wild West Days in Viroqua, Wisconsin where they have opened the ranch rodeo each year since 2000. Proudly carrying the Stars and Stripes, the Rodeo City Riders is a unique, all-women team, with members whose ages span three generations. With every member carrying Old Glory, the team prides itself on consistently delivering a show with energetic music, precision horsemanship, and a rousing finale to inspire young and old! From the moment the horses and riders enter the arena, as each flag is unfurled, and until the last note is sounded...you will feel the thrill...and feel a chill...as the Rodeo City Riders Drill Team inspires you to feel as they do: PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!
