The Rodeo City Riders club is responsible for the construction of the 9-mile bridle trail at the Hartman Creek State Park in Waupaca county, Wisconsin. Members of the Rodeo City Riders Trail Committee designed the 10-unit, easy-in, easy-out site, which is located south of Windfield Lane in the red pine plantation, near the existing trailhead. Also designed and built by some of the RCR members is a handicapped mounting ramp that allows handicapped riders to enjoy the trails more easily.
For a small fee of $4.00 per day, or $15.00 for a season pass, anyone with a state park sticker on their vehicle can enjoy riding the beautiful trails in a family-oriented environment. Bring your favorite horse and enjoy a day of riding through pine plantations and oak forests, as well as open prairies. There is a rest stop complete with a picnic table and hitching post, and a memorial bench to honor the late Ellen Delong--a former member of the Rodeo City Riders who had envisioned just such a trail at the Hartman Creek State Park.
Maps are available at the ranger station - or click here for a map of the trails. (Set your printer to landscape mode before printing.) |
