Longaberger® Baskets are a very important part of my life.
When I first started selling them over 10 years ago I read all
the success stories and said to myself "Yeah Right"!! Well
all those things have really come to pass for me. One of the
biggest changes Longaberger® has made in my life has been
to give me the confidence to go out and face the world head
on. I am no longer afraid to say no and I do tend to stand
up for myself much more than I did 7 years ago. Recently
I went through a major change in my life. After 21 years
of marriage I made the decision that enough was enough.
If it had not been for the strength that I have gained through
running my own business I don't think I would have been
able to make this decision and carry through with it.
Sure, I have done odd jobs over the course of 21 years,
but running your own business and doing it successfully
does make a difference on your outlook on life and what
you can accomplish if you put your mind to it. I have
recently made a move to a very nice town in the northern
part of Atlanta, called Woodstock, GA. The only one I knew
when I made this move was my sister, who lives about 30 miles
away from where I am at. Close but not too close, which is
good for her and good for me also. We love each other too
much to want to step on each others toes. She has been a great
source of strength to me in making me feel that I can do
just about anything if I really set my mind to it. Not only her
but the rest of my family has always been there for me.
I remember when I first got married, my daddy told me, if it
didn't work out he would pay for me to come back home,
but that he would only do it once time. Luckily, I never
had to ask him for that. At least I know that option is still
there since I never had to ask for that before. So I know
if I should fall on my face trying to stand on my own two
feet my parents will be there to pick up the pieces. What a
GREAT family I have. Friends are great but I gotta tell you if
you are ever lucky enough to have a family like I do, you are
one of the luckiest people alive.
