ACTIVE ROSTER

Simon Calvé #2
Second Base
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Orleans Red
1997: Orleans Red
AKA: Biggio / Jake Taylor / Weasel Santana

Simon Calvé has been playing fastball longer than he has known how to walk. A steady second baseman with a great knowledge for the game, Sim has been a key factor of The Rogues' success. Unfortunately, Sim is a walking calamity of injuries, which means if he's not on the field, he's in the gym or at physiotherapy. But he's a terror on the base paths, and he's very unpredictable with his bunt of doom, hitting in the 9th spot.

Martin Glazer #3
Pitcher
2001: Rogues
2000: McDonald's Slo-Pitch
1999: McDonald's Slo-Pitch
1998: Orleans Red
1997: Orleans White

Southpaw Martin Glazer has been A.W.O.L. since he last pitched four innings in the gold medal-winning game over Ian Dunbar's Vars team in 1998. After hitting a two run homerun and essentially winning the game for Red, Glazer took some time off. He's glad to be with The Rogues as a starting 1st baseman and a relief pitcher.

Matt Cox #5
Pitcher
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Orleans Red
1997: Orleans White
AKA: "Wild Thing" / M@

Starting pitcher Matt Cox has been playing fastall since 1991. He has pitched since 1994 and has improved steadily over the years with his control and stamina. Cox intends to improve his control while still maintaining an excellent beans-per-inning average. His biggest game came when he pitched 4 solid inning in the gold medal game of the 1998 season. He's also the coach, he made the uniforms, he runs this web site, he takes care of finances and team issues, and is a hell of a model athlete.

Martin Soucy #7
Utility
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Orleans White
1997: Orleans White

Martin's one of the best infielder on the team, who doesn't have a set position to play! He's an excellent short stop and third baseman, but plays the outfield as well. He's all-around one of the best defensemen out there. His hitting is above average as well, as he gets on base consistantly hitting in the number 2 spot. Martin's also a great catcher and whenever Ian needs a day off, Martin's got the precision and the guns to fill in greatly.

Ian Dunbar #11
Catcher
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Vars
1997: Vars

Dunbar's the starting catcher on The Rogues, and really turned into a good catcher as soon as he got out of the sticks in Vars and started catching for a REAL team. Ian's got great heart and a solid bat, and is also our hook-up for cheap equipment and uniforms. Ian's a fast runner and steals bases as much as he can, and doesn't mind getting covered in dirt.

Chris Amos #13
Right Field
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Getting Ass Kicked In Militia
1997: Orleans White

Amos. Where to begin? First year playing was 1993 for Orleans White. He still wears his trademark blue-jeans in every game, and last year, was our best hitter in the second half of the year. Chris is a fast runner, and stretches all his hits as far as he can, culminating in a lot of doubles. Chris is going to have a great year this year, certainly knocking in a lot of runs for us.

Kevin O'Grady #15
Short Stop
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Nortel League
1997: Nortel League
AKA: Over-throw'Grady

Kevin joined the team as a starting short stop, and has not disappointed. He'll stop any ground ball hit in his general direction, no matter what range or how hard it's hit. If he calls it, get out of his way. O'Grady's bat is steadily improving and has dug himself out of the 9th spot on the lineup. Kev was originally slated as the starting left-fielder, but with an awe-inspiring spring training, O'Grady has earned his spot in the infield.

Dan Robert #17
Pitcher
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Slo-Pitch
1998: Orleans Red
1997: Orleans Red

Dan Robert has been our best hitter since Gord Dillon left the team after our first year. He hit 5-6 home runs last year and had many extra-base hits. He's a great infielder and will get a lot of work this year as long as he can find some ear rings that he can remove before the start of the game! Dan's a pitcher as well and with a little practice, will be one of the best relievers in the game.

Seb Soucy #19
Pitcher
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Orleans White
1997: Orleans White
AKA: One-Nine

Seb has been forced to move to Montreal for a job opportunity, making it impossible for him to continue playing for the Rogues this season. Seb's one of the eight original Rogues, and one of the two original starting pitchers. He's been there through it all. His best year was the 1999 season where Seb had a great record and extremely impressive innings pitched. Seb's an amazing pitcher with good junk and great off-speed.

Ron Hrycak #22
Center Field
2001: Rogues
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Nortel League
1997: Nortel League
AKA: Willie Mayes-Hayes

Ron Hrycak's centre field is known as the place where extra base hits go to die. He can get to any ball, and have it back in the infield before it lands in his glove. (Thanks for the 10 bucks, Ron!) Uhh, anyways, he usually bats second or fifth in the line up, and is known to get homeruns when we don't need them. He can hit very well though, which makes Hrycak a threat batting in the lead-off spot.

Darren Gallant #27
Infield
2001: Rogues
2000: ???
1999: ???
1998: ???
1997: ???

From what he's displayed thus far, Darren Gallant is going to be a threat for opposing pitchers. He's hit VERY well, with an average of 1.000 and a lot of very good hits during practices and spring training. Darren is a little inexperienced with fastball defense, but will pick it up very quickly because he's already learned how to hit effectively. It should be a great year for "The Rookie".

Noel Hayes #29
3B
2001: Rogues
2000: -
1999: -
1998: -
1997: Belleville

Noel Hayes is the newest Rogue, having joined the team with 7 remaining games in the regular season. He is eligible to play in the playoffs if he competes in 6 regular season games, which will be pretty tight. Hayes is a solid thirdbaseman who just recently took up fastball after a 3 year hiatus. He's been playing competitvely for years before that in Belleville, and will do nothing but help the team out down the stretch.

INACTIVE ROSTER

Rob McNeil #4
Infield
2001: Rogues
2000: Stingers
1999: Stingers
1998: Orleans White
1997: Orleans Red

Rob McNeil, pound for pound, is one of the best fastball players out there. He's an exceptional infielder and a consistant batter, and has speed as well. Playing the game, McNeil is probably one of the smarter players out there, always thinking of what to do and where to play. He's been playing since the 80's and his family is rich in fastball tradition. His younger brothers (collectively known as The Hansons) Ryan and Roy have all had extensive fastball pasts, and especially Roy, who was a Stinger for 2 years before retiring. Rob went down with a mysterious injury and will most likely be gone for the season.

Rick Hrycak #22
3B
2001: SUB
2000: Rogues
1999: Rogues
1998: Nortel League
1997: Nortel League
AKA: Willie Mayes-Hayes

Rick Hrycak was a ball vacuum at 3rd for the last two years, but due to some nasty contract negotiations, has decided to sit out the 2001 season. Rick had a powerful bat and a wicked glove.

Roy McNeil #XX
SUB
2001: SUB
2000: Stingers
1999: Stingers
1998: Orleans White

Roy McNeil is the fastest man in Ottawa. He can outrun anyone in the grey division, and has a good bat two, which would make him an awesome addition to the Rogues lineup. However, he's having a very busy summer and is currently unavailable to play for The Rogues full-time. The Rogues will take advantage of Roy for some games when not enough people can attend, but can only support the team part time for the time being.
