St. Vladimir's Memorial Russian Orthodox Church, with it's
beautiful iconostas and golden cupolas, was built near the ROVA Resort as a memorial to
Prince Vladimir of Kiev, who introduced Christianity to the Slavic People in 988 A.D. It
is located in the largest colony of Russian Americans in the western world. In the radius
of 10 miles from Church, we have : 4 Orthodox Churches, 3 Church Halls. There are 2
Russian Military Museums, 1 Russian School, 3 Clubhouses, 1 Retirement Home for Single
Persons, ROVA Bar, Restaurant, Motel and Cabins for rent. There is a famous Pushkin Park
with 3 large monuments, and finally down the road we have a beautiful and well maintained
St. Vladimir's Cemetery, final resting place for many famous Russian people, including
famous Russiam Col. Denikin. |
