February 2002 - March 2002 |
February 13, 2002 At 20 weeks, we are half-way there!! February 19, 2002 We had our second doctor's appointment today. Sheri is measuring at 22cm and has gained only 2 lbs !! This baby is getting BIGGER!! February 26, 2002 Kevin felt the baby kick REALLY HARD tonight! He is determined that this baby will be a great hockey player. As Sheri has experienced the baby's body checking abilities first-hand, she agrees with him. |
March 12, 2002 We had our second ultrasound today. for more details!! |
March 12, 2002 We were so excited to see our baby via ultrasound for the second time! We were there for 1.5 hours - a VERY long time. It was only supposed to be about 25 mins for the tech. to take the pictures that the doctor wanted, but I was there with her for at least 45mins. After that, the radiologist came and took his own pictures. FINALLY Kevin was allowed to come into the room and we could see our little one together.. The baby looks perfect! It was a little nerve-wracking - just because the tech. and radiology doctor couldn't tell us anything about what they were seeing. We will have to wait until our doctor's appointment on the 18th to find out if everything is okay. |
March 18, 2002 We had our 25 week check-up today. Sheri is measuring at 27cm and has gained 4 lbs since our last appointment for a whopping total of 6 lbs! She is very excited about this!! We also received the results of our ultrasound... |
March 18, 2002 We found out just how special our little baby is today. Our little one has an abnormality of the left kidney. Our doctor informed us that the baby and Sheri would be under the care of a perinatal specialist for the remainder of the pregnancy - as well as continuing under her care. There will also be a special pediatrician called into the delivery room for the baby. It is also possible that Sheri will have to have a caesarean section done to deliver the baby - which means that an obstetrician would also be involved in the birth. We were given three different possibilities from our doctor regarding the baby's kidney. 1. The kidney may be abnormally shaped which keeps it from functioning normally. 2. The ureter (tube that leads from the kidney to the bladder) may be blocked. 3. Cysts may be surrounding or inside of the kidney or ureter; interfering with normal functioning. Surgery is most likely required in any of these situations; but we will know more once we have met with the specialist. We are trusting in God for the healing of our baby and are claiming the following verses: |
Psalm 103: 1-5 Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. |
Psalm 100: 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. |
