Episode 13: The Best of Times; The Worst of Times
Upon returning back to camp after the tribe voted out Mike, Corey was FURIOUS. He felt completely betrayed by Sue, and started to grow so angry, he refused to talk with Sue, let alone everyone. Will suggested they go to bed, right when they got back to camp, but Corey announced he was gonig to be up a few more mintues just to think things over. He sat on a rock, overlooking the now-frozen lake. Sitting there he remarked, "I can only think of one word to describe Sue: cheap. She has made it this far in the game by backstabbing and lying to as many people as possible. First she betrayed her original tribe and voted them all out, then backstabbed her way to the final 5 by lying to Eve, Will, and Brandon about her votes. One would think that by then she would be finished with her deceitful ways, but she still saw herself fit to betray the members of her own alliance, just so she could get a little further in a game that she has no hope of winning. Her reason for voting off Mike was that he had told Sue that he had intentions of taking me to the final two instead of her. Well now that she's gotten rid of him she may just get to the final two, but for what purpose? Face it Sue, the whole damn jury hates you! I'll be surprised if Sue even gets one jury vote, and that's not an exaggeration. All in all, she's played a sucky game to get herself to where she is-unless, of course, she were trying to get the award for pissing off everyone in this game. If that was her goal, then she's succeeded, and I hope she's proud." He soon started throwing rocks into the icy lake. He yelled out different profanities with each rock and was just getting angrier and angrier. He then ran back to camp to grab Sue's torch to throw into the water, but Brandon got up and told Corey to calm down and go to bed. He then restrained Corey, by grabbing his arms, to make sure that he didn't grab her torch. Corey reluctanctly proceeded to sleep. The next morning was by far the coldest morning they had had since they arrived in Kazakhstan. The final four all huddled around the fire, because no one was willing to get up to get the water. Will eventaully said he'd do it, and at this Corey went to give him a hand, leaving Sue and Brandon back at camp to discuss strategy. Sue started off the conversation by asking Brandon who he thought had the best chance of winning. Brandon replied "Will" which made Sue suddenly say, "Let's vote him out!" Brandon shuddered at this, but soon began to weigh the consequences of voting against his best friend and alliance mate. He knew he didn't have much of a chance against Will in the final two, but then realized if he didn't agree to Sue, he might not make the finals. Brandon nodded in agreement, and triumphiantally marched off into a confessional saying, "I have been saved thanks to sue, now I beleive that I can win this
game, but anything can change just like that!" Meanwhile, while Corey and Will were gathering water Corey tried to confront Will about the vote, in hopes that he could convince Will, who he thought had power over Brandon, to vote against Sue. At first Will evaded Corey, but eventually grudingly said, "he'd think about it". Corey took this as a "no", and later remarked, "I've thought of a bunch of different ways, but I think it's inevitable that I'm going." When they got back to camp, Brandon discovered they had received tree mail in the form of pictures of the twelve previously ousted contestants. The four looked up at each other in agreement that this challenge was going to be fallen comrades. In the late afternoon hours, before the challenge and tribal council, every one of the final four sat at a different place at camp contemplating strategy. Corey was locked on his decision to vote for Sue, since he was still bitter about her betrayal. Brandon was wavering between whether to go with Sue and boot Will, or to stick to his original alliance and vote against Corey. Will was also having trouble with his decision. Corey's pleas had stuck with him and he was seriously considering voting for Sue, who he found to be very manipulative, or Corey who he found to be the strongest player. He stated, "This is probably one of the toughest decisions I've had to make in the game thus far. Corey is a great competitor. Sue is a great manipulator. To slay the snake and fight the dragon? Or to slay the dragon and fight the snake?" Sue, came to a realization about her vote. She didn't think it would matter. She thought becuase Corey was most definitely voting against her, and Will and Brandon could vote together, her vote wouldn't make a difference. She remarked, "If Brandon and Will vote together, then they will vote me or Corey, obviously. So if i vote Corey, what does it matter...if i vote Brandon or Will what does it matter? If they all three vote me, what does my vote matter?" When the first hints of sunset were draped across the winter sky, the final four packed up and departed for the joint immunity challenge and tribal council. When they got there, they were surprised to see not just the jury, but the seven contestants voted out the jury there too. "Hello final 4", Adam said, "We brought in the entire cast to see how well YOU know them. Each of them will step forward and ask a question about him or herself. Whomever gets the most right out of 12 will win immunity and be guaranteed a spot in the final 3. Alright Missy, you're first." Missy asked the final four the names of her kids, and all of them got it right (Ashleigh and Alex). Nobody answered Hayley's question correctly that her brother was James from Survivor: Tonga keeping the scores at one apiece. Sue, Corey and Will all the knew the next question about Kathryn Janeway being Mike's favorite Star Trek captain, giving each of them a point advantage over Brandon. Sue and Will proceeded to get another point each by correctly saying Sean's favorite hockey team was the Toronto Maple Leafs. Sue and Will both continued their streaks by knowing that Frank was a web journalist. After five questions the score was: SUE AND WILL-5; COREY-2; BRANDON-1. However, Will took an adcantage by being the only person to correct identify that Eve's two favorite music styles were R&B and hip-hop. For the next question, Sue and Will were the only people to answer correctly that Kim lived in Manhattan. However, no one knew that Matt wanted to continue the trend of Australian winners from Survivor: Tonga, though Sue provided some comic relief by answering "the failure one". Once again, everyone missed the next question that Lachlan was desparate to get a girlfriend. After nine questions the score was: WILL-7; SUE-6; COREY-2; BRANDON-1. Will and Sue gave each other thumbs up as they realized neither Corey nor Brandon had a shot at winning immunity and one of them would win. However, Will extended his lead over Sue to two points by knowing that Michael's favorite band was Sum 41. Unfortunetly for Sue, she realized she needed to correctly answer the next two questions about Ryan and Zach to force a tie with Will, and that would only occur if he missed the questions. Despite Sue answering correctly that Ryan lived in Manitoba, Will revealed he also had answered correctly, which clinched Will's spot for immunity. Despite the challenge results being known, Zach asked his question anyway, but nobody cared anymore, and they all missed that Zach ran a movie reviews website. "Will-" Adam said, "by a final score of 8-6-2-1, you have reigned supreme over your fellow survivors and are now guaranteed a spot in the final three. Non-jury members sitting over there, you can leave now, as we have a tribal council to do." After routine questioning, Corey went up first to vote. He quickly wrote down SUE and explained, "This really isn't a strategic vote, as I'm pretty sure that I will be the one to get voted out tonight, I just think that Sue deserves this vote for all of the backstabbing and lying she's done in this game. I would also like to congratulate her for pissing off every single person in this game (except for maybe two who were voted off earlier and she never met) in some way or another. I know there's not even much purpose in submitting this vote because it won't have a chance to later come back and decide Sue's fate, I just had to get all this off my chest." Next up was Sue who voted quickly and sat back down. Brandon voted next and after writing COREY on his card said, "The reason I am voting this person is for strategy and its nothing bad against him; he is really cool but some ne has to go". Will was the last to vote and not revealing his vote to the camera said, "Ever since the very first challenge, I've seen you to be one of the toughest competitors of this game. Since then, I have had and still do have the utmost respect for your competitive spirit ('Cept in the last IC- don't know what happened there ;-) just kidding). At this point in the game, however, I perceive you as a possible strong threat, and it is based on that alone that I cast this vote. Good luck to you." Adam then announced he'd read the votes. First vote:

"One vote Corey, one vote Sue"

"The thirteenth person voted out of Survivor: Balkhash is:

Corey got up and high-fived Will, smiled at Brandon and ignored Sue. As Adam snuffed his torch, he proceeded out with the jury. Adam then said, "Congratulations, Sue, Will and Brandon you are the now the final three. However, Day 38 starts right now. Do not head back to camp. Instead leave tribal council immeadiately and proceed on your thirteen-mile hike to your next immunity challenge. You want to get a head start for the hike is arduous, steep, rocky and difficult. I'll meet you at mile marker one for more explicit directions."
Proceed to Day 38
