This is the tale of a Golden Gopher who turned into an Ice Cat who turned into a green Lizard and who finally turned into a very big Shark! Who else could this be but Jed Fiebelkorn (Feebs to his buddies) the Tiger Sharks' tallest right winger and the heart throb of lots of the young female fans. This is understandable because he is clean cut, preppy and extremely nice but I'm afraid there is a significant other in Minnesota. Sorry ladies! He is from Maple Grove, Minnesota, which is a suburb of the Twin Cities and began his skating career at the tender age of four. Athletic prowess runs in the family as his sister was Miss Basketball Minnesota while in high school, going on to being an All American Volleyball player at Notre Dame, and is now coaching at Indiana. Jed played hockey in high school and at the University of Minnesota where his team won the League in his freshman year and went on to the Final Four in his Junior and Senior years. His major in college was Psychology and he would like some day to get into Sports Psychology after getting his Masters. Drafted by the St. Louis Blues when he was 18, he decided to finish school first and went on to play with the Worcester Ice Cats of the AHL for 13 games. He was recruited by the Jacksonville Lizard Kings and spent most of a season there before he was traded for Todd Rierden and joined the Sharks. He said he liked playing for Jacksonville but he loves it here and really appreciates all the fan support. He said to be sure and let the fans know how much that support means to him and the rest of the players. He has coached youth hockey at camps for several years and enjoys that very much. He also likes golfing with teammates at Summerbrook and perhaps best off all, he likes to fish! The Fiebelkorn family has a cabin in Northern Minnesota and he loves to go there in the summer with his Golden Retriever (his best pal) and get in a lot of fishing. Steak and mashed potatoes will bring a smile to his face as will country music and Metallica. Gee, what a combination! His personal hockey hero is Cam Neely, the great Boston Bruin who just retired and he thinks the Chicago Blackhawks are his favorite team in the NHL. He says the Sharks are a pretty unbeatable team.
