The Process

Students will work with their families or other students to create a notebook showing attributes of their subject. For example: short reports, graphics, maps of the region or locaiton on the globe, graphs or other graphics of resources or other data the students wish to display including but not limited to photos. See the Evaluation page to see what kind of criteria the student will be graded on

  • 1. First you'll decide on a location and then a subject. For instance Greece and fashion ...
  • 2. Once you've picked a place and a subject to learn more about...You will look on the web for graphics and articles you can take notes on and present in a notebook
  • 3. One of the highlights of the Festival will be the food which you will find in your searches and cook or create. The resource page has a list of links that will provide you with several sources and background information as well as recipes.
  • 4. Finally you need to create a 3 minute presentation in costume to bring it all together. Note: Your grade will be based on your research notebook and your presentation of one aspect of that notebook as you describe it in words and images. It could be one or a collection of pieces of art (such as a drawing or model)or a speech with or without art and graphics. Work such as poetry or plays is acceptable as well and these can be original or memorized from other sources. The main goal is to have fun while learning more about this subject, so choose a location, subject resources and style of presentation that interests you.

Remember you choose how you organize the information gathered. You can use flowcharts, summary tables, concept maps, or other organizing structures in 2D or 3D. Depending on your style you may want to use live, video, or powerpoint presentation techniques.
