Joe Haldeman
- Dealing In Futures -
- The Forever War - a science fiction classic from the
Vietnam era. It's generally described at anti-war
military science fiction.
- Study War No More - a collection of short stories
Laurell K. Hamilton
Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series
An urban fantasy / horror series set in modern times. The
heroine is a vampire slayer and zombie animator in our modern
world where zombies are used for labor and vampires are a
tourist attraction. The magic in the series is not hidden
like most urban fantasy, so I would more likely classify it
as something else.
- The Laughing Corpse (#6?) - This is the only one I've
read. Interesting concept with magic being introduced to
our modern society. I'll probably try and read others in
the series to see how she handles it.
Lydon Hardy
- Master of the Five Magics (#1)
- Secret of the Sixth Magic (#2)
Rory Harper
Harry Harrison
Stainless Steel Rat series
I really liked this in high school, and have re-read some
of them since. No real gaming ideas.
- The Adventures of the Stainless Steel Rat - This was a
collection of short stories I think.
- A Stainless Steel Rat is Born (#1) - I don't think this
was the first book written, but it's the first book in
the story time line.
- The Stainless Steel Rat Gets Drafted (#2)
- The Stainless Steel Rat for President
Stars & Stripes Series
An alternate history series in which the Union and
Confederacy are attacked by Great Brition.
- Stars and Stripes Forever (#1) - I've read this one. Not
a bad idea.
- Stars and Stipes in Peril (#2) -
Peter J. Heck
Phules Company series
Co-authored books with Robert
Asprin For comments, see that entry.
- A Phule and His Money (#3)
- Phule Me Twice (#4)
Robert A. Heinlein
I think I have read everything listed. I've lost most of
Heinlein stuff a couple of times. Luckily most everything is in
print and there are copies in used book stores.

for most of my psi campaign ideas.
- The Green Brain
- The Dosadi Experiment
- The Jesus Incident
-
Dune Series
I started reading this in high school, and got thru the
first 4 or 5 books I think. The first few books were
excellent, the later ones started to drag.
