Dolist Adventure Two

Party Background

All the party members are teenagers in a public school in the suburbs of Norfolk, VA who are doing an internship with Hansen Industries during the summer. Being teenagers they have very few skills, but will still roll for skill points. The characters will be able to gain skills by spending skill points very quickly during the game. The characters know that they are psionic and have learned the basics of what they can use their powers for.

Players must decide what kind of skills they would like to aim for, especially job skills and an occupation, before the adventure starts.

The characters will have undergone some testing for aptitude and interest in various occupational fields. This is normal for all students at this age. The aptitude testing is represented by the skill roll and by the character's choice of skills they would like to learn during the next few adventures.

Adventure Goal

The goal of this adventure is to discover the secrets of Donkegin Hole and survive finding out of those secrets.

The Adventure

1 - Planning the trip

As part of their internship Hansen Industries will arrange for the interns to do some sightseeing and other fun activities. One such event will be a hike in the woods and mountains of New Hampshire. The party will not have the option of skipping the trip. It's a little obvious for an adventure lead, but it does get the job done.

2 - Donkegin Hole

The party will travel to a scenic area in central New Hampshire. There are a variety of trails they can explore including some that lead to the top of Mount Cardigan. No matter what trail they take they will come across the lake or pond. At least one NPC or a party member will want to go swimming since they are very hot after the climb and hike.

There will be at least on local at the pond. He won't be doing anything except sitting. He will warn the kids not to go swimming, and tell them it is not allowed. He will mention the Donkegin only if the kids ask why they can't go swimming. If pressed a bit further, he will mention the Donkegin by name and relate the tale to the kids.

Donkegin Hole is an old quarry carved into the side of the mountain. It is filled with water and has been abandoned for over 100 years. There are still remains of an old windmill wheel, shack and some other debris. If the party enters the water, or climbs onto the raft that is present the windmill will start turning and the wind will pick up. Exploration of the shack will lead to an old mine shaft. They will find an old skeleton in the mineshaft after a short exploration. The skeleton belongs to an old drunk from last winter.
