6/10/2355 Dear Journal I've been here for a little over a week now and I've been having some...interesting experiences. Well for starters I learned that Val talks. Which, I must say, scared me out of my mind. I was walking around outside in the woods all by myself. I suddenly tripped over something and fell flat on my face. "Ow!! That hurt! Why don't you watch where you're going?!" "Wha-Wha?? Who's there? Where are you?" "Obviously you can't see me or you wouldn't have tripped over me. I know I'm a runt and all, but come on I'm not an inch tall." she said. A runt. Who lives around here that's a runt? Definitely not Onrysu. He's got too many muscled and he's too tall and handsome to be--whoa..where did that come from? I thought. Hmmm...well the only person I remember being a runt was...no it can't be...could it? "Valana?" I asked. "Well she's not just a lot of muscle after all...somewhere in there she managed to squeeze in a brain," Val said rudely as she walked to where I could see hir. "You know I don't know how Onrysu can stand you! You're so rude!" I yelled. "I'm sorry," Val said. "I'm not usually that mean. I don't know why I was then." "It's OK. I forgive you. So you can talk huh? That's so cool!" I said excitedly. "Yes, I can speak. I'm a very special race of panthers. My kind used to be very abundant, but now there is only me and my family. If they're still alive that is," she said sadly. "I'm sorry about your family. It must have been hard living all by yourself. It's a good thins you found Onrysu." "Yes. He is my one and only true friend. His parent's are very kind to me too. I don't know where I would be without him. Well I must leave now. I am quite famished," she said as she walked away. "Good bye," I said. Wow she's so refined. She speaks so properly. What an amazing panther. Later that afternoon I was when I was out training and minding my own business I suddenly felt like someone was with me, watching me. I looked around and saw nothing, not a blade of grass was out of place. I tried to ignore the feeling and kept training when I felt a cool breeze come right through me. Then I saw a shinning, silver mist swirl around my staff, then around me. "Hiryuu," it whispered. It was a woman's voice. It seemed familiar. Yes I know this sounds crazy, but the mist actually spoke. Hiryuu you've got to slow down on the training or something, 'cuz when you start hearing voices somethin's got to be wrong. I thought. "I'm more than a voice," she said. "Right...you're a silver mist too...sorry," I responded sarcastically. "OK Val ,that's very funny. You can come out now!" I looked around, but Val wasn't there. "Stop searching for me in the pysical world. I'm not there anymore. I can only be found in your mind. In your memories." The voice was growing stronger and stronger. "Tenjouno Kouken?" I asked. "Very good, Hiryuu. Wow, I thought you'd never guess. Come on I haven't been gone that long," she laughed. "How did you-? How could you-? I think I need to sit down," I said. "Let me see if I can explain this," she said calmly. "When you took my star seed and transformed I became a part of you, and because of that I have the ability to talk to you." "So I can talk to you anytime I want?" I asked "Yes, and I can talk to you at any time also." "How long have you know you could do this?" "Oh I don't know, a few days maybe," she said innocently. "Why didn't you tell me?! Instead of scaring me senceless with the whispers and the wind and the dust! Woo you sure know how to make an entrance." I said in almost a mad tone. "I always did didn't I?" "Ya, ya, ya. Well OK, if we're going to keep doing this you have to stop scaring me like that! I mean really...like I haven't had a hard enough time..." I said in a commanding voice. "I didn't know I scared you. I didn't mean to I'm really sorry," said a strong, but timid male voice. I turned to see Onrysu holding a wooden tray with two sandwiches, fresh cherry pie, and two drinks. Hanging over his shoulder was a small quilt made by his mother. "Huh? Wha--No I didn't--I wasn't--uummm...oh..." I stuttered and stammered nervously. Did he hear me talking to Tenjouno? I thought. "Oh good food I'm starving! Training sure works up a girls appetite," I said trying to cover for talking to Tenjouno. "Thanks a lot Tenjouno," I whispered. I think I heard her giggle softly after that. Then she went away, this time a little more subtly than she came. Thankfully. I already had to cover for yelling at her, I didn't need to have to try to explain a mysterious silver cloud appearing and disappearing out of no where. "Good I'm glad your hungry," said Onrysu. His face lit up like a little puupy that had just been congradulated by his mast for doing a good deed. "My mother was making me lunch so I asked her to make some for me to take out to you. She's the one who suggested the blanket." "Where's Val?" I asked while taking a rather large bite out of my sandwich. "I think she's sleeping somewhere out here in the woods." "Why didn't you tell me she could talk?" I guess I caught him off guard becuz he started to choke on his drink. "You know that Val can talk?" "Yes, she let me know earlier this afternoon. What else are you hiding from me?" I said as i giggled. Apparently Onrysu didn't think it was funny at all because he wasn't laughing. ""Well I'm sure there are things you don't know about me, just like there are things I don't know about you. For insance what are your parents like?" "My parents? uuummm....oh you know...they're just typical parents. My mom was a good...and human... mom. Why do you ask?" "Of course your mom was human, most moms are. I was just wondering because you don't talk about your family much." he said hesitantly. I must have sounded like an absolute idiot right now. on to next page |
