Department of Mechanical Engineering strives to provide technical training to student community and technical services to industry around the region. Various research & Development projects sponsored by Govt. funding agencies like MHRD, DST, etc. have been undertaken so as attain technical competence in the coming millennium. Stress is also laid on community development programmes and at present department is running courses in the field of Plumbing, Welding and Furniture making. These courses are meant for rural youth and are extensions of services to the society in general. Of late, department has also initiated interaction with industry through consultancy services, seminars, workshops etc. Department has also be given green signal to start M.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) with specialization in Manufacturing Systems Engineering & Technology from next academic year
