language and heritage, the common prayer book is one of the things which

Covenant House, one of the largest privately
funded child care agencies in the country, provides food, clothing,
shelter, medical care and counseling to 35,000 adolescents under the age
of 21 each year. Founded in 1969 by a Catholic Priest, today Covenant
House has shelters in New York, Toronto, Fort Lauderdale, Atlantic City,
New Orleans, Houston, Los Angeles, Anchorage, and in three countries in
Central America. The "nineline" provides referrals and counseling for
youth in need.

The National Youth Crises Hotline offers
twenty-four hour crisis counseling, based upon the belief that Jesus
Christ is the ultimate solution to teen runaways and problems facing teens
in the world today. When a teen is on the street their objective is to get
them immediately off of it, back to their parents or to the runaway
shelter nearest them. They refer teens to a nationwide a list of
shelters.

Greyhound's Home Free program offers runaways
a free ride home from any of its 2,400 locations.
To receive a free ride home, children between
the ages of 12 and 18 simply call the National Runaway Switchboard at
(800) 621-4000. The National Runaway Switchboard (NRS) will verify the
runaway's status. Upon verification, the center will contact Greyhound to
make arrangements for free travel. A runaway may also call a local social
service agency, a shelter, or the police, who can also make necessary
arrangements through the NRS and Greyhound.
