Having not used this web page for anything useful over the past few years I decided to change that. In January 2004 I headed off for a round the world trip and documented my travels on this page. How is this different to other travelblogs? I don't know - except that it was written by me and my fellow travel companions. I was armed with a digital camera and a brain full of ideas to bring as much interesting news to you as possible. I hope I made it a fun and interesting journal to read. I had travelled a fair amount in the past so knew pretty much what to expect, and that's to not expect anything! (apart from the usual drunken Brits on their travels and that I'd run out of money.) With that aside I hope shared my new experiences with you in a fun way.

It all started on January 17th when I flew out to Bali - spending 7 nights there trying to not be harassed by the locals. Then it was onto Sydney for a week to visit friends Kate and Brad. And of course then the main reason for the trip: New Zealand. A top to bottom tour starting with a visit to friends and their wedding (Andy and Michelle in Hamilton,) then relatives (Mike, Brenda and the cousins in Napier,) followed by a rendezvous with my old work colleagues Benny and Matt in Christchurch. Of course with various trips spattered in between to other places on both islands. I was off then to Fiji for one luxurious week, then to Canada where I joined another work colleague, Nav, in Vancouver. I took a train trip down the west coast of America popping in-land for a visit to Vegas and of course the Grand Canyon. After all that it was the long flight back to Blighty. It wasn't as long as I'd wanted it to be, (I could have easily spent a year in New Zealand alone,) but home was calling and I did get a bit sick of moving around so frequently. Plus there's always the opportunity of going back!
