Kayikci is based on a true story in Cesme.The film is not only explaining the story of Hera and Leandris in mithology, but also constructing peace bridges between Turkey and Greece.The deaf Kayikci falls in love with the Greek girl Evdokia in the Cesme Festival and decides to see his darling again.One night he swims to Samos(Sakiz) in order to see Evdokia.This stranger who has no passport and identity card makes the Greek Police surprised.Evdokia has to explain her secret love in order to rescue Kayikci, and he is sent back to Cesme.
