"Oh, let me try!" Diana stood and quickly went to the machine to choose a song. Walking back, she grinned. "Since the last one was Eric, I think I’ll do this one for Presto." She grinned and pushed his hat over his eyes.
With a laugh, not even worrying about what song could be for him, even though he’d chosen a rather... insulting song... for Eric, Presto nodded. "Yeah. Do a song for me..."
Diana stood up on a bench, as the crowds cheered this new form of free entertainment. They were especially happy that it was a shapely young woman in miniscule clothing. And when the song started, they let out a roar before falling quieter to hear. She winked at Presto as she said, "Think of a certain redhead, Presto."
Then she launched into her song.
Cheers met those words, but that didn’t interrupt her. She merely sang over the voices.
Turning, she touched Presto’s nose as his eyes widened and a grin spread. "It’s Varla! You’re singing Varla!"
Diana nodded as she continued.
The crowd cheered and Presto flushed, but kept smiling happily, lost in a pleasant dream of Varla singing those words to him, instead.
Eric laughed, ending in a small snort, as he thumped Presto on the back. Diana grinned wider and raised her voice above the crowd once more, glad for the years of conditioning in sports which allowed her the greater lung capacity for this.
She laughed as people started thumping to the beat.
Turning, she held up her hands, calling, "Everyone!" And many voices joined, singing off key and making up the words, as no one really knew that song. Dianna didn’t care; her group was singing it properly with her. After two lines, however, the rest caught on.
Triumphantly, she whirled and grinned at Presto who stood, clapping. "Brava! Wonderful Diana! I love it!" His voice cracked, but he ignored it in favor of cheering the song he’d been sung.
As she sat down, followed by the Magician, it became apparent that Bobby was at the juke box, already picking his song. When he turned, it was with as close to an evil grin as he’d ever come.
