Hank looked surprised at being elected to sing. Holding up his hands, palms out, he shook his head. "Uh... I don't sing, actually, guys. I never could."

Eric snickered. "I know, but we don't care. It's your turn to entertain us, and Uni wants a song, right?" He leaned over slightly to the little unicorn. At her bleat of agreement, the Cavalier jumped then glared at the smug expression on her face. Bobby's laughter didn't help to soothe his ruffled feelings.

Grinning, the Magician leaned over and gestured expansively. "C'mon, Hank. You don't sing worse than me. Get up and give Uni a song." The others added their voices to Presto's.

Giving in, the blond teen stood and headed for the jukebox. "Okay, I'll sing something for Uni." He threw a grin over his shoulder at the cheers and the happy bleating. "Mind if it's a bit... odd? There's one song I think of right away when I see her." He looked back at the jukebox and his eyes widened. "Here it is! Wow... I wasn't sure it'd be here." The Ranger pushed his selection then turned around, not bothering with the bench. Instead, he walked over and sat on the table, stroking Uni as he began to sing in a passable tune.

A long time ago when the earth was green there was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen. They'd run around free sure as your born, but the loveliest of them all was the unicorn. There was green alligators and long neck geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees, some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born the loveliest of all was the unicorn.

A cheer went up from the Dwarves once more. Apparently they approved any song with an easy to follow beat. Uni, however, seemed to preen a bit at the words, liking the idea that someone wrote a song with unicorns as the heroes. None of the others seemed to know the song so they listened carefully to the lilting rhythm.

Now God seen some sinning and it gave him pain, and he says, "Stand back I'm gonna make it rain." He says "Hey, Brother Noah, I'll tell you what to do: build me a floating zoo, and take some of them...

Hank grinned and waved a hand to get the others to join in. Naturally, they faltered through, with Hank strongly leading, but everyone seemed to be having fun.

...green alligators and long neck geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees, some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as your born don't you forget my unicorn.

With a nod, Hank looked down at Uni, as if asking her a question or giving her an answer to some unheard problem. He smiled softly.

Old Noah was there to answer the call. He finished up making the ark just as the rain started falling. He marched in the animals two by two, and he called out as they went through, "Hey, Lord, I got your...

By this time the Dwarves had figured out all of the words of the refrain and heartily belted it along with Hank's softer tones. The rest of the youths were torn between trying to sing (Presto and Sheila and Diana) or laughing uproariously (Eric and Bobby). Uni bleated in a semblence of the tune, at least, even if she couldn't pronounce the words.

...green alligators and long neck geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees, some cats and rats and elephants, but Lord I'm so forlorn I just can't see no unicorn.

The unicorn looked expectantly to the human on whose lap she lay sprawled. Hank didn't disappoint.

Then Noah looked out through the driving rain. Them unicorns were hiding, playing silly games: kicking and splashing while the rain was falling. Oh, them silly unicorns.

As he started the refrain, Hank grinned to hear the rest of the kids join in.

There was green alligators and long neck geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees.

Then came Hank's ringer as he threw in a new twist instead of the normal refrain listing. This led the Dwarves into a roar of disagreement. Bobby stood and knocked his club on the ground, which they respectfully took as a sign they should calm down. The Barbarian turned to Hank, catching the last of his new words and making a mental note to get him to sing it again another time when there were no interruptions.

Noah cried "Close the doors cause the rain is falling, and we just can't wait for no unicorns."

"Myeah?" Uni seemed to want to panic, but Hank stroked her soothingly. "Calm down, Uni," Bobby whispered, fearing he'd miss even more of the song. She settled, but seemed very unhappy just the same.

The ark started moving; it drifted with the tide. The unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried and the waters came and sort of floated them away...

Hank spoke clearly, rather than singing the next line, a slight Irish lilt to his voice now.

That's why you never seen a unicorn to this very day.

A mournful bleat was almost overcome as with an expansive gesture, Hank grinned and called, "Everybody!"

You'll see green alligators and long neck geese, some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees, some cats and rats and elephants...

They fell silent as Hank sang the last line of the cute Irish song.

But sure as your born you're never gonna see no unicorn.

"Myeah..." Uni slid from Hank's lap as if in a dead faint, unbelieving that anyone would write such a wicked song about unicorns. As Bobby knelt to check her, grinning at the song, Eric snorted and shrugged. "Figures that's what happened. Stupid unicorns."

Sheila grabbed Bobby as he launched himself at the taller Cavalier, calling out, "New song! Please? Now?"

With a laugh, Diana nodded. "I've got one, and we all know it." She hurried to the jukebox and found the selection, by now uncaring as to why all of their songs, even the most obscure, could be found on the magic selector. She pressed the buttons and turned as a fast paced beat filled the tavern room.
