ROCKS THAT BLEED
Thousands of years ago, when the land of Japan was ruled by samurais and greenery, there lived two brothers, powerful samurais who were also great sorcerers. They traveled Japan and neighboring countries to build their craft and be the best samurai warriors. Their determination and sheer perseverance in everything they do caused them to be recognized by the king and he later he regarded them as his own. A few years later, the king died and left his throne to the two brothers.
Power consumed the two brothers. They did not care for the people, much less the well being of the country. They only concentrated on becoming stronger and stronger. It didn’t take long for the people to hate them, causing revolutions which tried to overthrow them. However, being skilled in sorcery, the people did not stand a chance against the two of them.
A visitor from a far away land came to know of these two brothers. Wanting to absorb the brothers’ powers, he cast a spell, bounding their spirits into him. However, the spell back fired, the souls of the two powerful sorcerer were somehow trapped in two large rocks, inscriptions of unknown language was carved onto it, bounding them in there. Their body turned into ashes immediately and the visitor was no where in sight after wards.
Japan went into a stage of much disorder until a leader finally emerged and finally brought it to where it was now. The two large rocks went against time, weather and most of all man kind. After thousands of years, it still stood, untouched, unharmed and un-disturbed.
Legend has it that, the day the rocks fall apart, the two souls will be released and bring Japan into total chaos once again.

“Are we there yet?.” Oriya asked his best friend and companion as they walked through the forest, looking for something that was merely a legend.
“No.” Muraki led the way through the dense forest with only his intuition as a guide.
They continued walking, climbing over fallen trees and crawled through the swamp. They came upon a clearing soon after where the rock were supposedly situated. Oriya tried to clean off the mud that was all over him while Muraki looked around in disbelief.
“It has to be here.” Muraki continued searching. “I can feel its power.”
“There’s nothing here, Muraki. Just give it up already.” Oriya was dead beat, he sat on the grass for a short rest and tried to lay his head on the ground. He felt like he hit something cause he was suddenly rubbing his head. Muraki turned his attention to his friend and then it strike him.
“The rocks are there but they are invisible.” Using the little trick he learned through out the years, he started chanting and sure enough the rock appeared, like the cloth that was covering it was instantly removed.
Oriya rubbed his eyes. He rubbed his eyes again. Did he just see the rocks appearing out of no where? Muraki walked towards it to take a closer inspection . He touched it, like he was touching Tsuzuki’s flawless skin. He traced the writings on the rocks with his fingers and smirked.
Looking at Muraki smiling that way, Oriya knew something bad was going to happen. No matter how much Muraki will convince him that everything will be ok, he just knew that things will only get worst. Oriya could only stare at Muraki as he started reading the characters. They sounded foreign but yet Muraki recite them with ease.
He should have known better. The things Muraki would do to get what he wants, even to the extend of killing someone. He sighed remembering the time he had to help Muraki dispose a body. Of course he didn’t do it personally, he always had someone else do it.
After saying the last few lines from the rock, the inscription disappeared and both rocks started moving. Muraki grinned, finally he’d be able to attain the power he wanted. They would all be his and his alone. No one can stop him, not even Tsuzuki Asato.
The two rocks moved slightly away from each other and like on signal, two sets of lightning struck, slicing both rocks into two, right in the middle. As the two pieces fall to the sides, two bodies remained in mid air, floating with a yellowish glow, embodying them. As the glow gradually disappeared, the two bodies feel to the ground.
Muraki ran to one of them as Oriya went to the other. Muraki sat beside the body and when he tried to check for a pulse, a hand shot up and pushed Muraki’s hand away.
“Where am I?” the man asked, as he stood up and studied his surroundings.
“Iason,” he called out to his brother. He turned to the direction that Oriya was and just by waving his hand, he flung Oriya away from his brother’s body and floated towards him.
Iason opened his eyes, only too see his brother staring back at him. |
