1. You must respect your superior officers. When not in combat, address officers and soldiers by their rank: Private, Corporal, Lieutenant or Captain. For example: "Hey Captain Dark, you're one heck of a player!" "Thank you Corporal Weaklink." When in combat, use a shortened version of their codename, for example: Dark-dark, nightmare-night. "nice one dark" "not too bad yourself night"
2. You must participate in clan tactics and not go solo.
3. No one may have a SATO codename unless he or she is a member(this includes ex-members).
4. You may not belong to 2 clans or more. If you are a member of SOTA, then you are devoted to this clan and no other Halo clans.
5. Anyone found breaking any rules or repeating acts that they have been told are prohibited, will be expelled from the clan.

1. Show Familiarity with the controls.
2. Show ability to drive a Warthog.
3. Show ability to fly a Banshee.
4. Go against either Lieutenants or Corporals to show skill.

The rank of Recruit can only be assigned by a Captain, though a Corporal can file a recommendation. The promotion to the rank of Private can only be initiated by a Captain after the passing of the Recruit Test. All promotions must be initiated by a Captain. The Recruit Test is taken with both Captains and any voluntary officers present.
