Jersey Slim
Jersey Slim
I met Jersey Slim around 1989. Lorraine introduced me to him at the Wonderland Blues Bar on Second Ave. He was livin' in Brooklyn at the time, but he couldn't be Brooklyn Slim 'cause there already was a Brooklyn Slim.
J.S. likes to play straight harp; and he told me that it was Adam who showed him how to do it. In the early '90s we had a band with Barry Harrison on drums, and Larry Ghorsi on bass. We played all around town, including The Lone Star, Chicago B.L.U.E.S., and a place in Brooklyn with a dirt floor. J.S . has a lot of stories about being in prison and being on the chain gang, and much besides. He is the real thing. In fact, if you ain't the real thing, you ain't on this site. Here's a tiny bit of J.S. singin', and me playing slide guitar and my good friend Mark Tomlinson playing the other guitar.
