Meet Our Fosters

We know our webpage have become rather "dull" with not a lot of updates like we used to do. But the truth is we've been some pretty busy pooches entertaining all kinds of furry friends.

Last year mama decided to get more involved in rescue and joined a local pet rescue organization called Noah's Bark and we've had nothing but doggie visitors ever since! Some have had beards and some have not. But we certainly had a lot of sniffing to do!! Sometimes Rudy even gets a sore leg from all the leg lifting he must do in the backyard just to keep up with the company. I, Nick, have sometimes been horse trying to out bark them. All in all we've had a lot of fun... hey we out number the 2-leggeds usually two to one now... and Mama now always buys the ecomony sized Milk-Bone Box.

We thought you might enjoy a peak into at some of our buddies that have come and gone. Some have had very sad stories but they've all had happy endings... and we are glad we were able to help them off to a fresh start in life. Each of these little guys/gals have taken a piece of our hearts with them when they left... But we know there is always a new buddy right around the corner who needs help. The average stay of for our fosters has been about 2 weeks.

Mama wanted to encourage folks who are interested in rescue to get involved. Its easy, its fun, and most of all its rewarding... just contact a pet rescue organization in your own area to see how you can help. Help is always needed and welcomed and there are many other ways you can help besides fostering, just ask!!

p.s. Come back and visit this page... and see who our next friend will be.. you never know what mama might bring home!!

Nikki 07-30-98 Nikki - 6 yr old female miniature schnauzer rescued from puppy mill. Poor Nikki had all her bottom teeth missing.

Toto - 2 yr old male miniature schnauzer rescue from puppy mill. Toto was the shyest of these three schnauzers but once he warmed up he was the most lovingness also.
Toto 07-30-98
Becky 10-14-98 Becky - 1 yr old female Lhasa Apso, turned in by breeder who could no longer care for his 30 Lhasa. Many people passed up adopting Becky because her tongue hung out (harmless condition caused by misalignment of the jaw). We thought it gave her character and so did the folks that finally adopted her.

Paco - 1 yr old male Chihuahua, one-eye little turned in by breeder. Paco was one of our quickest dogs to adopt. He was placed within an hour of his first showing... only to be beat by Richie (the schnauzer).
Paco 11-18-98
Chrissy 11-20-98 Chrissy - 4 yr old female Lhasa Apso, turned in by breeder. This was the same breeder that had Becky (incidently Noah's Bark placed 12 of these Lhasa... but we only fostered two of them.)

Sally - under year old female miniature schnauzer mix rescued from shelter the day she was to be put down, she had a broken leg. We believe she was turned in by her owner after being hit by a car. We always thought of Sally as our Christmas Miracle. Read Sally's Story.

Ariel 03-19-99 Ariel - 4 yr old female cockapoo turned in by owner. She had spent her entire life in the backyard. Owner had 8 kids and no time for her. Ariel now spends her time with retired mom and pop and even goes yachting!

Richie - 1 yr old male miniature schnauzer turned in by owner. He spent his how life in backyard and with 4 other dogs. Came into rescue with "dredlocks". We had a home lined up for Richie before we even had him... he is now very spoiled.

Mindy 04-15-99
Boo 04-23-99 Boo - 2 yr old male maltese/poodle mix owner turn in, elderly lady could no longer care for. Boo had never been groomed severely matted and was the worst smelling dog imaginable... one groomer had refused to groom him he was so bad. After his haircut he turned out the be 1/3 of his original size. See before grooming photo.

Casper - 2 yr old male maltese mix owner turn in, Casper and Boo came together. We are also happy to report we were able to adopt them together. See before grooming photo.
Casper 04-23-99
Lady 05-05-99 Lady - 5 yr old female cocker spaniel. Her owner's moved to Las Vegas and left her behind... luckily a kind hearted neighbor took Lady in temporarily then turned her over to rescue rather than see her go to the shelter. Watching Rudy and Lady playing together, I couldn't resist doing a Schnauzer Lane version of Lady and the Tramp.

Frankie - 10 month old miniature schnauzer, only 12 pounds! Frankie was abandon in a park, left on a bench in a cat carrier, he was found late at night and turned in to animal control. He was bailed out from a very high kill shelter. Hard to believe anyone would dump this sweet beautiful boy. See before grooming photo.
Frankie 05-14-99
Rachel 05-28-99 Rachel - 1 year old female Bichon Friese mix. Rachel was a stray, she was found with barbed wire wrapped around her neck and severly matted.
Ziggy - 5 year old male miniature schnauzer bailed from a kill shelter. Ziggy was product of a divorce. This was his second time at the shelter, his previous owner rescued him when he was 2 years old. Just prior to us rescuing him he had been adopted only to be returned the next day. Lucky - 4 year old salt/pepper male Miniature Schnauzer. Lucky was an owner turn in. He was rescued from a shelter several years ago. His owners moved to a new location on a busy street and feared for his safety since he was a bit of an escape artist, so they turned him over to rescue. Lucky 10-23-99
