Holly on Scott

Scott is the perfect combination – smart, funny, loving, and caring.  While Scott is very dedicated to his job as an Engineering Team Leader, he is also very good at setting aside plenty of time for family and friends.  He is a sports enthusiast who enjoys participating in local softball, volleyball, and basketball leagues.  I am excited for him to have the opportunity to teach, play, and cheer on our child as they become involved in activities.  Scott is always awaiting a new opportunity to help others learn.  I know our child will be able to count on their dad when it comes to tough math and science homework, learning a new skill, or fixing a broken toy.

Scott on Holly

Holly has the biggest heart of any person I know!  In addition to being the primary caretaker of our home, she works part time as a Data Desk Assistant for the local newspaper and volunteers in the local community.  She is always on the lookout for someone who needs help, from a new mother of quadruplet girls, to a coworker with grandchildren who are struggling in school.  She has spent numerous hours helping these families and is always excited to see their progress.  I look forward to the day when I can see her rock our child to sleep, read story books with our child, and make delicious cookies for all of us to decorate and share!

Our Hobbies

Both of us enjoy many activities, but one of our favorites is traveling!  We look forward to building sand castles at the beach with our little one and introducing him or her to the excitement of Disney World! Holly also enjoys scrapbooking.  She loves to take the memories from our lives, family events, and trips and turn them into scrapbooks that can be cherished forever.  She loved creating a first year scrapbook for our niece, and she looks forward to sharing our child’s special adoption story through scrapbooks. One of Scott’s favorite activities is doing outdoor projects.  He remembers doing many projects with his father and looks forward to teaching our child how to paint the barn and grow cherry tomatoes.

Our Families

Both of us come from loving, connected, Christian families.  Holly grew up in Peoria, Illinois with her parents and sister.  Her mother is an elementary school teacher and her father is retired, but continues to work part time for a Christian school.  Holly’s sister is married and has a little girl, Chloe.  Scott grew up in Anderson, Indiana with his parents and sister.  His mother is a nurse at the local hospital and his father is retired, but continues to work part time as a contract engineer.  Scott’s sister is married and has a little boy, Nathaniel.  Our niece and nephew look forward to having a new cousin they can play hide-and-seek or have sleepovers with!  All our family is within a few hours drive and are anxiously awaiting our first child!  Our child will always know the love and encouragement that comes with spending time with family.  We also look forward to those special trips to see grandparents who are ready to spoil our child rotten with constant attention and ice cream!

Our  Home

We are blessed to own a wonderful home with good schools, a nearby library, and a neighborhood full of children.  From our fenced yard with a play set to our quiet cul-de-sac, the opportunities for fun are abundant!

We also share our home with our playful Golden Retriever, Casey, and our sweet Yellow Lab, Peaches.  They bring much excitement, warmth, and dirty feet into our lives, helping make sure we are always on our toes!  Both dogs love children and are very attentive to any child that sits in our high chair!

We are excited about setting up the nursery in the bedroom next to ours!  That room will harbor many special memories of singing and reading to our child, feedings at all times of the day and night, and the collection of toys, books, and clothes that will fill the room.  We can’t wait for the day when that room will be filled with the joy and love we will share with our first child!
